great thread!!!
What about ct$? How much per 1$ coupon?
Just a comment, I have encountered traders who ask for a stamp to cover their postage (on top of the trade)...are they not taking into consideration the postage the other side has to pay for sending their part of the trade? Would it not be best just to ask for a sase?
Thanks again for the information!

A SASE does not sound fair in that case, since there is already a trade. Unless the stamp is included as part of the trade, nobody should be covering anyone's postage.
There is also the situation where a person has coupons you want and there is no real trade, you're mailing a stamp to them have the coupons mailed to you.Last edited by AmberLab; Tue, Jun 16th, 2009 at 12:01 PM.

I agree with not paying for postage on my own trades. The only time I offer to cover PART of the postage is when trading for a quantity of the $2 coupons off the cereal box since I know they weigh more to mail. Other than that I don't really ask unless it's a stamp trade.

I am getting a lot of pm's from newbies looking for this. Don't mind helping out but it would be easier to just have it available, not because i started it but because there is A LOT of great info here.

Perhaps we should refrain from trading SDM points with all the trouble it is causing lately. I know I am going to stop, not that I was really active in trading that way anyway.

How did I never see this thread before??? Great info!
I just want to toss in my 2 cents about SDM points value.
When I was a newbie I never understood how what seemed to be a lot of points could be worth so little. If you have collected 100 points at SDM, you've spent $10 (not counting bonus points obviously), but you can't think of it as how much you spent to get them. You have to think of it as how much they are WORTH at redemption.
75,000 points are worth $150 on regular redemption days, and $200 on bonus redemption days.
75,000 divided by 150 = 500 (500 points = $1 redemption value)
75,000 divided by 200 = 375 (375 points = $1 redemption value)
When I trade for SDM points I use the 375 = $1 rule for trading high value and FPC coupons.
For regular coupons I trade 75 points = $1 in regular coupons, or if the trader wants more than $20 in coupons I lower it to 50 points.
Hopefully this helps some newbies!Andrea

As to Canadian Tire money, I personally think it should be traded dollar for dollar in coupon value. Seeing as how it is "money" applied to your total for anything you buy at CT.
Everyone can do what they want, some people are really generous and give great deals!Andrea

Canandian tire $ is hard to come by!! I wish I could trade all my coups for canadian tire money, I'd use it a lot (our car constantly need something, its a GREAT store for outdoor activities for me and the kids and I love the debbie travis line

But because so much actual money spent before receiving it, you can't really trade $1 CT for $1 coupon, coups are free, canadian tire money isn't
If a person is actively searching for CT$ they'll accept it!
