    well that childhood friend is a full grown middle age man now, so God help him and his family if he has not changed since a teenager, lol. Oh and whenever I see other people's pages, esp. if there are pets, or babies, OMG it makes my day too. I am just heading up to watch a bit of tv before bed, so I will say tata for now!

    I think THAT was the one that made me lol. My DH actually had a childhood friend, that when his Mom sent him to do the dishes, he put the dish on the floor and let the dog lick them clean!! I am not making this up! He was a first class jerk.

    Not necessarily DC, but American food is riddled with way more added sugars, they use growth hormones in their meat and dairy animals, and corn is added to just about everything because they have so much and need to find something to do with it all.

    Hey Alicia! Thanks for thinking of me Yes, I did indeed finish everything by March 31st. It was a bit of a stressful experience; I had trouble sleeping a few nights last week worrying about it. On the 31st in fact, I got up at 4:30 - don't ask when I woke up! - went for a walk, then got down to work. It was all done by about 5pm. I dropped off the hard copy (299 pages plus abstract, bibliography, appendices, etc.) to my advisor's office yesterday, so now have to wait for her feedback. Hopefully the changes are just minor. I want to submit asap and hopefully defend before summer

    Aw, that's crummy that the advisor wants to drag things out for you. I can definitely relate to how being done feels so close, yet so far away!

    My own work is moving along, but I am kind of dreading the next two weeks. I need to have a draft of the dissertation in full - from title page to references and appendices, formatted, etc. etc. to my advisor by March 31st - two weeks today. I know that's a Saturday, but that doesn't seem to bother the advisor - she's funny like that Needless to say, that's what I'm *supposed* to be doing right now, although I decided a 5-min break would do me good. Here's hoping you're having a great weekend and a great St. Patty's Day

    Thanks for the rep! I couldn't stop laughing at #3 about no references in the publication, and especially at #10 - when one experiment went awry, he tried to cover it up by drowning his subjects.

    I hope everything's on the move with your dissertation!
