  1. Hi Andi,

Well, at least your getting some stuff done!!! I haven't even gotten started and I have to run out again to the Humane Society for a review on kitten feeding since the season is coming and while there I should help out a few older ones. I've really got to get started on spring cleaning the thought is driving me nuts!!! If you come accross any stuff you don't need whilst cleaning the H.S. is having a garage sale on April 29. Things can be dropped off anytime before that. They have an Open House that day too. Just in case you come accross any unwanted stuff. Anyways, I gotta run, have a good day Andi!
  2. Who said anything about getting the cleaning done??? I still have a mess in my living room & I haven't been able to use my couch in a week. On the plus side, my bedroom hasn't been this clean in a year. Eek. Once the living room is done, I'm going through my book shelves. double eeek!

Hope you & the ladies are well.
  3. I'm really, really sorry to hear about your friend Andi, I too was hoping she'd be okay, she was quite young and lived in your building didn't she?
  4. Hope all those tests turn out for the best Andi! Good Luck with the results, I'll be routing for you! Take Care!
  5. Sending my very best wishes to you and your lovely critters Andi!
  6. Oh, that's great! I'm going with H Team & Lee03, can't wait!
  7. I'm going to try my best to go. These concerts are always fun, especially when running into SCers.

I'll hold onto the extra tix for you, just in case.
  8. Thanks a lot Andi, but I can't say for positive I'll be able to go, I definitely want to but I'll have to see, I won't be able to go to both. I wouldn't want you to hold on to them and then have me not be able to use them, I'll have to decide later. Are u going?
  9. OK, I'll set aside a ticket for each show for ya.

Have a wonderful time. Here's hoping you don't have to spend too much time in the doghouse for leaving your puds.
  10. Okay, it's a deal! I'll pray for no rain for Saturday and you pray for no rain on Thursday (and Friday!) oh the heck with it let's just pray for no rain for the next week!!! I'm still getting ready, it's crazy all the stuff you have to do to go away for a couple of days!!! Thanks for the the offer for coffee.

Are you going to see Goddo or Saga? I'd like to see both. Not positive at this point as there are a couple of other things going on those nights but I would like to go. They must have been giving out tickets at the Q bash eh? anyways I gotta go pack and play with those furry beings of mine. TTYL!
  11. Have an amazing time!!! I'll pray for good weather for you if you pray for good weather for Sat (my friend is having a BBQ for 30 people! eek!). We'll have to catch up when you get back (& next time you go to the HS, go a couple blocks west & a couple of blocks south & we'll have coffee.
  12. Yes, looks like your time has come! Sounds like D has been under a lot of stress, looking after an elderly parent with Alziemer's would be very hard. She should have enough time to get her passport! Yeah, congrats again!
  13. It's funny, I was telling my best friend how I keep plugging in words & phrases & codes to all the radio station sites, but never win anything. Guess I'll have to eat my words now.

The friend I want to take is the one who's under a lot of stress (gave up a good job to stay home & take care of an elderly parent with Alzheimers). We met about 14 years ago & in all that time D's never had a vacation that didn't involve family stuff. No chance to cut loose & have a bit of stress-free fun. So I'm really hoping I do win, I know D really needs a break.
  14. Oh Wow Andi!!!! You got the pre-call!!!! You lucky gal!!!! Congrats on that! I was just thinking about how I didn't get it!!!
  15. I don`t know how she does it. The problem with running a rescue is that you end up with the ones nobody wants. At one point she had 2 that hated each other, so she always had to bring one dog with her wherever she went, just in case someone unlocked a door - she didn`t want anyone getting hurt. That was an absolute nightmare & it went on for a few years.
  16. I don't know how I do it either, it really gets to me seeing those cages, but if I stop it's not helping them at all then. I have to try to stop thinking about how sad it is for them.....but how do you do that? That's nice your friend is going to keep that dog who clearly wants her to keep him! Good for her! She must go through a lot running a rescue!
  17. I don`t know how you do it. I used to work with a rescue, but after one too many that wormed their way into my heart, I had to stop. All of Lily`s little stray kitties ended up in homes, so no lost souls in my back alley any more (good thing, cause I used up all my favours).

A gal I know runs a rescue (had lunch with her on Sunday). She had a dog go out to a foster family who ran away. She went down to help them look for him, & he came running to her when he heard her voice. She then sent him to another foster family, same thing happened. The third time, she decided that she would figure out a way to keep him (she already has 3 dogs).
  18. Glad your tooth is finally fixed Andi, I meant to post a good luck post to you earlier today but I had to rush out of the library to get to the H.S. on time for the 12 noon feeding. It's not good to be late cause the little one's are supposed to be fed at a certain time. There is a certain older cat on my mind tonight depressing me a little. He was a 7 year old tabby who wanted affection so bad, poor thing - there's always one or more furry beings that stay in my heart!
  19. sorry you woke up too early and couldn't get back to sleep Andi! I hate it when that happens. Baking cookies at 6 a.m. this morning! that's too early for me! hope you don't feel too tired today, I'm off to Markham for the Asia festival. TTYL! p.s. give your critters a hug from me!
  20. Oh, sorry about your D. appointment! They are never fun but sometimes they can be downright scary!!! As I say I kind of wimped out and haven't got part of mine pulled out that broke, it hasn't bothered me so guess I've been procrastinating for quite a while! Good luck next week! Sometimes it's not as bad as we think it will be!
  21. Dentist was a bit yucky, I have to go back next week to finish up. Blech. It's unfortunately one of the side effects of my meds (weakened teeth).
  22. Glad you had a good time. A shame we didn't link up, tho. Oh well, we'll meet one of these days.

I am very sore today from carrying the brat around. I think someone might be going on a diet soon.
  23. Damn, you must have just left as I got there! I tried calling your cell in case you were still there before I left home but the mailbox was full, did you get the message I left at your home? Anyways, it was a good time, pretty crowded eh? I stayed until 6. Got lots of bags of food and tins for my puds. Didn't get to buy them anything else, the guy I usually see with deals in his booth wasn't there or the person with the cheaper scarfs. Anyways, it was fun.
  24. Sounds good! I'm turning this thing off now.

Hope you sleep well, give the critters my best!
  25. No pix of the pups, which was a good thing (I can't resist a pretty face ).

I'll check in with ya in the morning, see if we can\t synch our plans & meet up at Woofstock on one of the days.
  26. I'm not sure about Orillia tomorrow now that I've heard about the thunderstorms, maybe the next day will be better although cooler. Those pups you were offered must be pretty cute, did you see them (if so it would be harder to resist!) This damn rain is making it hard for me to know what to do, I'd love to meet your little "man" kitty, if you know when you will be there drop me a quick note. Thanks.
  27. Not sure when I'm going, likely both days, just not sure of the time (waiting for a friend to call).

Have fun in Orillia tomorrow, it's so pretty up there.
  28. Hi Andi! Yes, I hope to go to Woofstock this weekend, maybe Sunday. I was planning to go to Orillia tomorrow, there's a festival going on by the water, I thought I could have a nice picnic and look around but now they are calling for a lot of rain which isn't good for Woofstock either!!! Last year it poured down on the Saturday didn't it? Anyways, I'll see what happens not positive now what to do. When are you going?
  29. Sounds like a real cutie! I guess they're worried that a really young kitten will drive your "mature" kitties crazy.

I was actually offered a puppy a couple of weeks ago (a Jack Russell/Shih Tzu/terrier/? mix). I turned him down, but said if they couldn't find him a home to let me know & I'd take him in if they were desperate & couldn't find homes (they had 5 9 week old pups - they were waiting to neuter daddy until he was a bit older, seems like he matured way too quickly, they didn't want to take a chance with surgery for mom cause she has a heart murmur).

I'm secretly hoping that there is still one in need of a home, but it wouldn't be practical at this point.

    One of these days.

Are you going to Woofstock this weekend? Q & I will be down there at some point - have to put those doggies in their place, as only a cat can.
  30. Glad the critters check up went well! Yea hoo! Those puppies must have been cute! Maybe you should have grabbed one, might have fit in with Quince and Lily, although maybe not! It is tempting though isn't it? I fed the cutest kitten the other day, he had an orange head and tabby body, soooo sweet!!!The tech there said I should go a couple of older kittens if bringing them into a home with 2 oldies like mine, in case the bigger ones, don't like them, guess that makes sense, but geez I see so many cuties!!! Anyways, take care Andi!
