Well, 36 hours has passed since I ate the soup and no symptoms. (That's the incubation period when symptoms should appear.) I called the health nurse and she confirmed that as long as I bring something to a roiling boil for 10 mins, botulism spores, if present, will be suppressed and food will be safe to eat. That's one health class lesson that has stuck with me.

Thank you skippy ,i had a gift card for canadian tire and had $49 in points so only paid for one bucket $52 for the driveway plus patch bottle and sweepers .So really saved us money wise ,but our bodies still feel it 5 days later.

Oh good. It’s hard when our furbabies don’t feel well but can’t tell us I’m glad kitty will be ok. Time for lots of snuggles ( at least as much as kitty allows )

you just described my biggest fear! Not being able to walk anymore, and for someone who walked with great vim and vigor delivering mail for 36 years this will not do.

I could NEVER manage any outside walking, the damn knees! and my balance sucks. BUT this machine gives me hope. I will walk very slowly on it BUT that still counts as walking doesn't it? ha ha

Didn't that video of Rod Stewart just warm your heart?! I remember not that long ago when he lost BOTH his older brothers within a month of each other.
One of them was in his 90's. It's so weird to think of Rod as the " baby " of his family....ha ha

we are coping. Humour for us is always the best medicine when it comes to unrelenting back pain. Today I had 2 T-shirts made up that we're going to wear out to our Anniversary dinner ( just us 2 this year ).
Caption: Been together long enough to refer to our Wedding Anniversaries as " time served ". They turned out great! Nice fancy script writing font used. DH said " hey now we each have a shirt that we can wear on one day of the year! " ha ha ha

ty for the kind words wrt my DH. Normally he can get his vacation request(s) and/or changes granted because in Sept he will have been working there there for FIFTY years!
However , this time it just could not be allowed, too many employees are already off this week. Isn't it awful when you just have to look at a person's face and you KNOW they're in great pain? These days we are both battling back pain. Much like you....we just carry on.

well yes that's true BUT still a better deal than buying clothing from a regular retailer. Often times articles I find at Thrift stores still have sales tags on them. It's hit and miss. I cannot believe the stink in the air outside! I only stepped out onto the deck a few times today to check for mail and an amazon delivery and PEE EEW! Guess the smoke from those fires are drifting all over.

oh Skippy! Us too! We used to enjoy many hummingbirds years ago at the cottage but those days are long gone. I totally forgot to post that it was Frankie's SECOND Birthday on Sunday!
DH was going to buy him a Timbit as a cake, but that never happened. Poor Frankie, his birthday was not acknowledged. If it makes any difference we both stood at his cage and apologized! ha ha

wanna know something? I had been sitting at my desk here off and on since very early this morning and the window is wide open in front of me. I was convinced I detected something burning
" somewhere", so I bent down under my computer desk thinking maybe it was wires burning. Could not find any source. Had NO clue about any smoke from a fire. Clearly this is a day I could have benefited from watching the Canadian news. Thanks!!

funny thing about yogurt, we all know it has health benefits BUT most of the crap out there is WAAAY over sugared and full of extra fat. The stuff I have come to appreciate and enjoy is the very thick, plain 0% fat Greek stuff. I even use it as my pretend sour cream when I want some on a baked potato! DH still eats the sugared stuff, but insists I only buy the ones with fruit on the bottom because he associates fruit with " healthy " ha ha. NO stirred stuff for him. Enjoy the night!

being jelly is another way of saying jealous. When I read some posts I get quite green eyed at a deal they snagged or something else. Really just a joke. Drinkable yogurt sounds horrid to me!
I like my yogurt Greek, plain and thick...the spoon stands up straight when I stick it in the middle of the tub. I hope my DS will try the vile drinkable thing, otherwise it will be tossed. Dh won't touch that either. We sound fussy don't we? Hey!! Congrats on that treadmill test!! All those daily walks have paid off.

oy!! The rain/thunder and lightening here has been a concern! I'll bet that last torrential downpour/explosion of sound and a light-show woke up my guys for a moment or two. It happened maybe 20 minutes ago ( 1:40 maybe? ) but lasted only a few minutes. My bil is not a handy sort at all, doesn't own any tools, but such a lovely man. He often makes jokes about my DH being a Jack of all trades with all he has worked on our DIY home renos. DH was just lucky his father taught him so many life skills growing up, including some electrical, roofing, construction and even gardening! DH said it was more like slave labour as his Dad had him doing all the work in their home for no pay. ha ha

Skippy I thought I had posted a pic of it years ago. DH built the cats a structure the same size as the kitchen window frame and it's attached off the frame outside in the backyard. It's mostly wooden and screened for their viewing pleasure of the birds and squirrels that roam the fence and trees. The floor is carpeted and it has a slanted roof above made a of thinner wood. We have only had raccoons rip an opening in it 2 times! We always keep the kitchen window closed and latched for that reason. Nothing jump starts the heart when you open the blinds to see a fat racoon staring at you on the other side of the glass!
