I also got a killer deal today. Used the 30% off coupon, then redeemed $170. Total out of pocket was $149.xx ...which I then covered with my Shoppers cards I had purchased with the gift card promo. And got a $10 Shoppers card. :D

Great brag. I am a little confused though, you are only awarded 24000 pts for doing 3 of the gc deals, and the $50 gc is not awarded when you buy gc. If you could break it down as to how you scored the extra deals I would love to go back to SDM and do the same. Great score on the bonus 80000 pts with the coupon, wish I got my mitts on that lol.
Now I am just asking not trying to discredit your deal in a negative way, just honestly curious to see if I got cheated out of an extra deal as I got the big "no" by the cashier yesterday.

Not a problem, here's the break down, when you buy $150 SDM gc you normally get 1500 pts so you get that plus the 8000 pts which brings it to 9500 per transaction, I did 3 transactions so will receive 28,500 pts. I did not get the $10 gc for this, you do not get gc when buying a gc. Next I bought the PS4 using the gc's I just bought, I also had a coupon for 20x the pts that I got in the mail, which gave me an additional 80,000 pts and since I spent over $50.00 for the PS4 they gave me $10.00 SDM gc..Hope this helps...

Yeah, only at SDM!
Okay I see you used the 20x coupon, I got 1 too. But my concern is you already got a $10 GC which is a sdm promo so they can deny awarding the 80000 points later bc you can't combine promos.
The only difference I see in getting the PS4 today is the $10 GC, if you wait till tomorrow
you will get the 20x right away vs waiting weeks for the points to be awarded. (But then again they may sold out of PS4)
I need to get a laptop $350 and can't figure out which is better deal bc my math sucks. Get it on a 20x tomorrow or wait for potential mega redemption ($210-$250 range).Last edited by Decaf; Fri, Nov 15th, 2013 at 03:49 PM.

Hopefully you don't face any issues with it since SDM won't allow you to return it. Saw this post on another forum from someone:
Got one from Shoppers, plugged it in and I get nothing but a blank TV and a flashing light on the console. It was like this out of the box, I left it for a while as I thought maybe it was installing something on hard drive but nothing. Checked all cables and it looks fine. Went back to Shoppers and they tell me no returns because it is open. They said to call Sony. I called Sony right in the store and waited on hold for a while, they told me to NOT return to store, stores have been instructed to NOT accept returns on open consoles. All returns MUST be made through Sony. WTF? They tell me they can send me an empty box to return the system. 2-3 business days to get the box, 2-3 days to get the system back to them and then 7-10 days for them to test and repair/replace and send console back to me. They offered me $10 PSN credit, I told them I just want to play PS4. I'm going to go back to Shoppers later to talk to a manager. I will be getting my money back. I would have been happy with an exchange, I asked them to hold their last console but they sold it while I was on the phone with Sony.

It's a great way to rack up points. But the title is quite misleading when you aren't getting anything 50% off. You are getting points that are worth a future amount valued at about 50% of what you spent. EX. what are you buying with those points later? Let's pretend you'll get games with them... If so, let's simplify the math and say you have enough points to redeem 240$. so you buy 6 games with that.
So for ~400$ + tax, you will have a ps4 and 6 games. Someone else goes to future shop right now and spends 640$ + tax for the exact same thing. Doing that math, you're getting ~1/3 off.

Whoever posted that seems a little bitter. I understand the frustration, but its in the policy and its just a risk you have to take. Lot's of stores are like this. SDM or any store loses money on returns and I am quite sure SONY doesn't pay walmart or future shop employees for their time in doing this. I mean, I completely understand that it sucks, but rules are rules? I would hate to be the manager listening to this individual when he/she comes in later after this part: "I will be getting my money back".... Some people complain way too much and ruin it for others who have actual concerns that need to be addressed.

Every year I redeem my points for electronics at SDM and I have never had a problem. I am sorry for those who have but so far I am satisfied with SDM electronics. I am hoping to pick up a PS4 tonight using my 30% off coupon, redeeming 95000pts and hoping to get 20X on the remaining OOP cost. I am just hoping there will be one left for me somewhere tonight just after midnight!!!!!
