SCOP question?
I had a 12 pack of diet pepsi SCOPed at RCSS today, they only refunded me the $3.50 purchase price but not the $1.20 deposit or enviro fee. Is this correct? I didn't want to make a big deal cause it had taken so long to get the $3.50 in the first place and DD was starting to get cranky.

I've never had to deal with this but I would think you would still have to pay these. We get the deposit back when we return the cans so that covers that part of it anyways :)
-
I would have to agree.I used 6 FPC for 12pk Pepsi, but had to pay the deposit.:-)
-
yup, you would still have to pay tax and deposits on all scop stuff.
-
I dont think you pay tax...i never have.
-
Yea, that would be right, because if they refunded you the deposit fee, you'd still be able to get the deposit fee back when you go to return the cans/bottles...
-
Yes when I used the Brisk B2G1 i paid tax and deposit.
-
Tax seems to depend on where you buy it. Is this a provincial thing?
-
Since when do you pay deposit on cans? Regular pop cans? Or is that just out west?
-
We don't have a deposit, just a $.02 enviro levy on anything like pop cans & bottles, etc. But we also don't make any money back by recycling them :)
-
Yup! I went to RCSS for tax free days and the only thing I had to pay was the deposit for one of the free Sunrype I got

I live in Alberta and I have to pay the deposit and the enviro levy on all pop cans/bottles, alcohol, milk (4L plastic and 2L carton), yogurt bottles (ie. Danactive). I don't return them to the bottle depot I just give them to my parents 'cause they recycle and I'm too lazy. In a way I do recycle 'cause I give them to my parents who like to recycle stuff. LOL
