there's a special on tonight on the cbc about the new coronation street set. it's very cool. some clips from the 60's and views on the previous sets.


Coronation Street: A Moving Story (HD)

The special program will follow the relocation of the soap's set from Quay Street in Manchester city centre to Media City UK in Salford. The programme will feature contributions from past and present faces from the Weatherfield soap and will use time-lapse photography to show how the new set took over two years to build in order to make the buildings wider and bigger to better suit high-definition televisions.

Maria/Marcus/Todd

Todd adds nothing to the show, I get it was a "way out" story for Marcus but meh. He just doesn't go the evilness well, it seems overdone. As for Maria pretending she is Kirsty, errrr did we not just do that vicious type storyline with David? Why????

Anna/Owen/Phelan

Their characters have changed so much. Once upon a time, you would have thought Owen was mafia and killed Phelan for speaking to him like that. Anna has turned so mean, even before the Phelan thing. I mean when Tina wanted to keep Jake, did any of them consider that she needed counselling over being a surrogate? Instead of slapping her and calling her heartless. And why do you never see Faye even though Katie etc are there

Peter/Tina

I am actually liking Carla more with this story line but it just is not Tina and are we really going there with Peter and the drinking again. The whole Tina helping before he goes into rehab was ridiculous (and given the way she was acting the day before, she would have jumped his bones not just sat there talking). Steve is acting like an idiot now he knows too - as if Michelle wouldn't think something was up with that?

Jenna will be leaving this year too. That brings the list up to six: Tina, Peter, Katy, Marcus, Dennis and Jenna.
They have cast the rest of Kal's family and are looking for another disabled cast member which makes me wonder if Izzy will be next to go
