I remember a while back there was a thread about someone seeing a mouse in a grocery store. I got this pic in an email fwd today. I guess I know that creepy crawlies and mice are in all food processing factories. But I like to play ignorant because it makes it easier for me to eat without nausea. lol! I'm really wishing I had a breadmaker right about now!

That is disgusting!!!
Actually, they aren`t supposed to have any bugs or rodents or animals running around in food processing plants, at least in Ontario to my knowledge.
I worked in a box plant for 5 years, and we had to meet the same strict standards that the food processing companies had to comply with. We had no issues with stuff like that.SwagBucks.com - the premiere digital dollar. Earn SwagBucks to redeem for great prizes. Amazon.ca are available here!

Yuck! I had purchased a loaf of bread that was made fresh at a grocery store (to remain unnamed ) and there was a cockroach baked and then sliced in it. I could tell the manager was thinking I had put it in there when I was telling him...until I pulled it out and he saw that it was divided between about 4 or 5 slices .....Disgusting! I should have asked for more than another loaf of bread .

I sometimes wonder about pics that come up online. Might be photoshopped. But still, eww!
As for the critters not being in food processing facilities...I find that hard to believe. I'm thinking that they're there, just not anywhere people can see them during the work day.
I worked at a grocery store years ago, in the basement there sure were mice. I remember they used to use those horrible sticky traps. An animal lover who worked with me thought she'd try to free a mouse who got stuck. She got bitten, had to go to the hospital and get shots. Those traps are horrible though.
I do love most animals, but wild mice and rats don't make the list. I specify the wild ones, because my son's daycare has pets - a guinea pig, and about five rats. I was kind of horrified at first, but they've grown on me. We bring snacks for them every morning, they're really quite social, they even recognize our voices (probably because we bring food!).
Editing to say, my bread machine is running right now! Oatmeal bread.
