So we have an extension cord running from one bedroom to the next under the doors, and my tubby tabby knows that when he gets hungry or bored in the middle of the night, he can flick it with his paw to wake me up at 3:30 in the morning, along with his new-found voice (was never really talkative before). I try to ignore it, because I dont want him to train me and realize this behaviour works, but I need my sleep for work.

I hate my new alarm clock...

I have a cat question My cat broke his leg on the weekend and I got it splinted on Tuesday. He pulled that off Wednesday so it was redone and apparently glued right to his leg. Well he will not leave the darn thing alone! So he has the cone on but he's either really agile or something, he is chewing on the end of it. I got some bitter apple spray and put that on, doesn't help. Any other suggestions? He is really upset about it and just wants to play but of course he can't. It's going to be a long 6 weeks of me worrying he'll manage to get this cast off too! It's a front leg so it sticks out straight now, I think that's why he can still reach the end of it with the cone on. If I get a bigger cone he can't get his head to the food/water dishes.

You could try lemon juice, Roo will like bitter apple from the bottle but hates lemon. Mine have always been calmer with the flexible cones but he may be able to get to the leg easier with it.

This is Karl. He is our neighbour's cat. He wandered in for a visit one day earlier this year and a half hour later - after I'd forgotten he was in the house - look what I found when I walked into the bathroom!
