I have 2 cats, one 15 years old, Serena (named after the cousin on Bewitched) and the other about 2 years old, Mittens (my girls named her). The younger cat was a stray kitten hanging around the house so we took her in.
Well Mittens must really be grateful to me because she follows me everywhere! The strangest thing though was a couple days ago. I was having a rough day (thinking about my nana who just passed) and cried on and off. Well Mittens seemed to be really bothered by my tears because she would bat my shoulder and meow at me. I have never seen a cat do that before! In a weird way it was sort of comforting though, almost like my nana was there saying it's ok - if that makes any sense.

Can anybody really explain to me the mystery of HOW cats know when you're making a bed??? It's amazing, they just pop out of the woodwork, don't they?!
Then . . .there's the big expectation for a big game of "who's that under the sheet"? No wonder my work never gets done around here!

I missed all the action tonight. I was at a business meeting but apparently Tux (my 15 pounder cougar-kittie) had caught a mouse (probably his 10th today) Well Eddie (Jack Russell we affectionately call "the Terrorist")) caught sight of that little gem dangling out of his mouth. . .and the chase was on. . It apparently was quite the athletic contest, but Eddie caught up, grabbed the mouse, ran away a safe distance, then ate it. YUCK.
Not to worry. . .I'm pretty sure Tux is thinking up a delightful program of torture for Eddie starting tomorrow. . .

...and I can totally relate to making the beds. I have to be careful when I lift up the mattress and make sure Mittens is not underneath!

My Buttons is the same way

If I ever cry he comes running over straight away, jumps on my lap, meows at me, rubs up all over me, licks my face, paws at me, rolls over on to chest upside down, and he does not stop until I laugh. It's really the funniest, sweetest thing.

We got this three level hanging mesh thingee we hang from the side of the cats' tall scratching post - kind of like a hammock. Each level has a big hole to get into - Taffy goes to the one which has the most sun in the morning!

Vader, now 10 months old. She's developed into an absolutely amazing kitty - equal parts crazynuts and suckyloving.
