Thank you both. Kidneys and liver are good. He is severely anemic and has a bad infection on his paralyzed limb (fluid was puss-ish not just inflammation). The anemia is likely due to an underlying cause such as cancer (I had a good cry when the "c" word got mentioned), but they are ignoring that now until the infection is treated with antibiotics and the blood counts are better. Another $100 on medicine (eye drops, antibiotics and something for upper respiratory problems). He is a strong, tough little guy - I just cannot wait to have him a bit better...

Very sleepy kitties today - had to make the most bizarre noises to get those eyes open!

I am so happy to say my little Simba is doing so much better. He was so lethargic, but now with his antibiotics for the past two days - he has perked right up. Also, the fluid/swelling on his paralyzed limb is about the third of the size it was to days ago (the vet drained 6 mL (!) that appeared overnight, it then filled back up on Thursday/Friday and now it is probably about 2 mL - major progress!). I love how easy it is to give him medicine - we have been giving him laxatives through a syringe for years so it isn't even weird to come near him with it, so he doesn't get skittish.

Here is my baby cat Simba, sleeping under the blanket with me, on my chest (and hating the flash!). He loves using my boobs as a pillow
