The expansion of our walmart to a supercentre is almost complete. They are adding 40,000sf to the store. About 60 percent of the grocery section is now open except for the meats/veg/deli. They expect to have it all open by the end of the month. I will wait to pass judgment until the whole thing is open but so far I like it.

Just get a scooter at the front door and drive for miles. When you were at one end of the store and looked towards the opposite end, you couldn't see it! It stretched to infinity!

I'm probably going to have crazy dreams about it sometime.

I was in Alabama last month. Trust me, their Super Centres are bigger than ours. Ours would fit in one of theirs twice. It was freaky. The WalMart in Puerto Vallerta sells full size appliances, alcohol, and their deli and bakery are to die for.

When it comes to huge WalMarts. Canada is the poor relation

I wasn't too impressed by the produce at the Walmart SuperCentre. I'd buy prepackaged, processed brand name foods, but that's about it.

I priced out cakes at my WM supercenter. They had ALOT of the same ones as the Fortinos/Sobey's and they were about $7 cheaper. I still made my own cause nothing is cheaper and more delicious than homemade. TI's a labour of love

Maybe perhaps in Canada, but the grocery section of WM's in the US really do not feel like you're shopping in a WM. It's almost like a smaller scale costco, but with more variety.

OMG, YES!! I couldn't even begin to think how awful it would be to live in the US!!! Which makes it even more confusing as to why their customer service is so much better....but then again....not understanding how good we have it here is bliss, I guess....

I don't think it's the end of grocery stores. A lot of people like to shop at Walmart, but a lot of people don't. I don't go there for groceries because I find that their regular prices are too high. If they do have a good sale, they are always out of stock and are very slow to restock their shelves. One thing Walmart has done is put pressure on other grocery stores to lower their prices, which is a very good thing.

The expansion at our store is near completion. I still don't buy food/produce at Walmart. Hopefully. when it is complete, there will be more of a selection and higher quality products. Right now I would prefer to shop at the grocery stores.

The Wal-Mart super centre near me has a large produce section. However it is frequently very low on stock. Also, the quality of their produce is pretty mediocre. I rarely shop.there for anything...especially not groceries.
    So many coupons....so little time!
