Thx Dealsniffer, I was running out of a few things today so I braved driving but as a backup I picked up my DD in case of a problem. My dh is supportive of my couponing but if I send him to the store it would not be the best idea. I saved almost 200. and that is a good day. I make sure I do not take pain meds until I am home so I am in pain again now, but they will kick in soon. Hope everyone is doing a bit better today as well because pain just sucks.

Been having migraines for about 2 weeks straight..with a a day or two of "dull time"..then it flares up again..I been in so much "bleeping pain"...so I am going to see a nuerologist...for the third time.
I was talking to my sil and she had the nerve block treatments done..a pinched nerve was causing her headaches and she said she was alot better after one treatment.
I guess that is something I will have to talk with the dr about when I see him.

I've come to the conclusion that it is not good to medicate yourself.

Although it may take away the pain, there are side affects

Skippy hope you're OK, the side effects of pain meds really are bad. I used to take mine as prescibed but I reduced the amount because we just could not afford to fill presciption every 2 weeks, I take them now as needed and I have cut them down to 1/3 of what dr prescibed. I am in pain but I can tolerate it better now, I guess practice makes perfect.

sorry I haven't been on here much-been in alot of pain myself. I did post some in the main tea room though.
TidyTaurus I am not sure if you are working at all but have you looked into AADL? I got that for awhile and I think it might cover prescription stuff. It might be worth looking into if you want to get what your doctor prescribes and not have to worry about the cost. There might be something else too. I can't think of it off hand tho.
Skippy-I hope that your appt with the ortho surgeon goes well. Hopefully the new meds work better.
WandaJean-I hope the doc finds the cause of your migraines-they are not fun! I have been dealing with a constant headache since October and found out it is because of my eyes. Have you had your eyes checked also? Is there a specific time of day that the migraines get worse? Or is it just random? Maybe keep a migraine journal also-it sounds weird but it helps to see if there is a pattern. It does work if there is something specific causing the migraines that you are doing or eating. Hope they get better! I wish I could be of more help!

Dealsniffer I know there are gov programs available but I do not qualify for any and even if I did I would only do this as a very last resort because I do not want the gov involved in my life, they do not have compassion as you already know. Its the people that you have to deal with I have a problem with. I have dealt with different gov agencies over the years and have had horrible experiences so as long as I can juggle the budget here I will avoid gov interferance.
WandaJean I hope your headaches are getting better if not so sorry, I used to have bad ones until I figured out everytime I ate anything with caramel in it I got a raging headache, so now I avoid caramel and have way less headaches.
Skippy I hope things work out with your new dr and meds.

    The pain is too much.

oh no Skippy! Can you get someone to still bring you Timmy's? Sorry TidyTaurus-I just thought I would mention it in case you wanted it. I know what you mean about the gov't but in my case I really didn't have much choice and didn't have any other options. It was like hitting the bottom when I had to sign up but in the end I did get my dental taken care of which was good. Now I am dealing with the consequences of having to get help from the gov't. I am now using the term deal with the devil! LOL In many ways I wonder if they know him personally! LOL Sorry they are so cruel sometimes and I don't know how they sleep at night with the stuff they do to people who need help. They seem to like to kick people while they are down. But I didn't really have any other options and needed dental and the only way was to get help from the gov't. Plus with them I managed to afford optical and for the first time in like 7yrs I got new glasses and I would suggest avoiding waiting that long! My eyes changed alot and now I need prisms in both lenses and my goodness it has taken alot to get used to! Massive headaches and any movement was causing almost motion sickness and lights were incredibly bright at first and everything was so painfully clear it hurt. But now finally I am starting to get used to them. So it did benefit me but now I am in a huge battle for it. Is it worth it in the end-I will get back to you on that..... I wonder if the gov't is on a first name basis with the devil? LOL Sorry I am not usually this mean about people but this just shows how ticked I am at them. They deserve every mean word in the book! Even the swears I don't even have in my vocabulary.
As for me and how I am doing-not good at all. Skippy I think we have somewhat something in common. In terms of pain in the legs/feet. I know it isn't the same but I have been having nerve problems and terrible pain shooting through my legs and my feet go numb and it is hard to walk with numbness in the feet. Also it is painful to walk because of the pain in my legs and my knee joints are just awful. Oh and last week I was kneeling and fell over onto my hip and so it has it's moments. I am pretty much immobile for now. If I rest for an hour or so I can manage to walk just outside to the greenhouse and back but it is really painful to do so. I have the requisition for an xray but haven't been able to make it in to get it. I am in alot of pain which makes it difficult to go into town. Sorry about complaining but I have a bit more. My back is in terrible shape too-so much pain when I get up and lay down and while laying down I feel like I have stuff poking into my back. I don't think it is the mattress but with all the weird sensations in my back it is hard to distinguish where the pain is coming from exactly and could be but I would not be able to tell. My headaches are getting better but the muscles around my eyes are still painful and it has been freezing cold outside. There that is everything I think for now. Sorry-I do feel better now. Thanks for listening. I really appreciate it! Oh and while I am going through this the gov't is trying to screw up my life! There now I am done. lol

Take care of your health first. I know for a fact that it is easier said than done, but if possible you need to do so for your own good.

The words I initially wrote here, were written while in agony and wallowing in self pity.Perfect example of pain contrlling me.
I never regret having children, they have been a blesssing and a joy to me and my family.
Although there are difficult times, that are even more difficult to deal with in my condition. I am trying to do my best, sometimes successfully, other times not.It is a difficult learning process for everyone.
That said,I respect the decision of those who choose not to have children. It is a personal decision period.

Sorry you feel that way, Skippy. It`s at times like that I`m so glad I made the decision not to have a family. I knew very early that I wouldn`t be able to care for them. Having said that, I realize that is not the right choice for everyone.
I`m in agony tonight. We had DH retirement party yesterday. Had a pig roast with over 100 people attending. I was on my feet way too much all week getting ready for it and tonight I`m in such pain I can`t sleep. went to bed but I had to get up because it hurts too much to lie down. Every joint in my body HURTS. I`m sure I`ll feel better tomorrow but I don`t think there will be any sleep tonight.

    See my amended post.

Hope your feeling better today, and that the party was worth the pain.

These things are a small price to pay for pain(I keep telling myself that!)
