Bargain dining might sound like an oxymoron but sometimes it is actually possible to eat out for not much more than it would cost at home, or maybe even less!

For example, at Hon's Wun-Tun House right now (Oct. 2nd, '09) they have their 12 piece plate of potstickers priced at $3.37. It's a special anniversary price but I wasn't able to find out how long it's on. Check out their website at:

While I was googling that I stumbled upon this website:

I love super cheap meals out! Just a few more random bargains... I grabbed a McDonald's double cheeseburger today for $1.69! No fries or pop, I brought my own bottle of H20.

If you're around The Gathering Place community centre at Seymour and Helmcken there is a pleasant cafeteria upstairs that offers delicious super cheap meals. The crowd can be a mix of street kids, homeless people, workers from the neighbourhood and even a few savvy business people.

Another favourite is Brioche at the north foot of Homer St. (at Cordova). Get a "cup" of their superb daily soup for 3 bucks and change. It's a generous cup (more like a bowl) that comes with a piece of bread and makes a great small meal.

It's good to know that with all the great food in Vancouver even the penny pinchers like me can eat well!
