I've noticed that almost every week now we get a "I lost my coupons" thread and they're getting annoying.
Maybe you really lost, misplaced, or threw away by mistake your coupons (and maybe not, I can't tell) but you simply need to suck it up, start building a new coupons set and move on. SC is not a coupons bank or a charity where you can expect to get free coupons from others for nothing. If you're looking for a freebie visit SC's freebies section. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

thank you boo.
condolences to all, and the generosity of SCers are greatly appreciated, but there are always other ways to rebuild a coupon collection ex: many RAOK offerings, big bundles for discount trade... the stories would be better left in Tearoom or another thread?with Wagjag(http://www.wagjag.com/?wid=b6d767d2f8ed5d21a44b0e5886680cb9), I've saved @ Umbra store, Windsor Arms Hotel (Afternoon Tea), Fairmont Royal York Hotel Library Bar, Wanda's Pie in the Sky, Hero Burgers, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, AND Curves Fitness! YOU CAN TOO!

Hey Boo,
Is it still OK to let people know that you're collecting coupons for a needy family, the animal shelters, and so on? I love those types of threads and love helping out where I can.
Thanks!

Glad to see this. I know it might sound mean to those who really did lose their coupons, and I do sympathize. But like you said Boo, there's a lot of these threads lately and it's not really fair to expect others to rebuild your coupon collection because of a mistake made.

Aw, I like these threads. I never send anybody and coupons, but I enjoy the tragic tales.
This is the place people come to vent about the ecstasies and agonies of shopping. For people who DO lose their coupons, the support of other coupon-crazies may be the very thing to help them begin to move forward. They may not have anybody in real life who understands what their coupon collection meant to them.
I think people can make up their own minds on whether to help or not, based on their relationship with the lost-my-coupons poster, and the poster's rep and trade ratings.
Having said that, I do agree that "suck it up" is almost always good advice.

As for collecting for shelters, etc...well, maybe there could be a section for people looking for donations and the trading section could be only about trading.
Good call on the no more sad stories decision. The way things have been going lately I agree with tightening things up a bit."Far over the misty mountains cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old,
We must away ere break of day, to seek the pale enchanted gold."
