What if you bought 3 items for MIRs all in one transaction? Can you photocopy the receipt?

Depends on the rebate, read the fine print carefully. Some want original, occasionally they'll say photocopy, some are just the packaging. Unfortunately most want the originaly receipt

I have a dumb question, but sure someone one here has an answer I haven't found/bought 5 boxes of cereal with the gas for cash yet, and saw the comment that the no-purchase entry they mail a box! So looked up the details and it says to send a SASE and they'll send a randomly selected package - but my enevelopes won't fit a cereal box... what did you do??

Doesn't matter, although you're required to send SASE they don't use it to mail your cereal box (weird, i know).

You could have done it once a week per household, but they've ran out of the no-purchase entry now. So don't bother wasting your envies and stamps.
