depends on the cashier really....i wouldnt really mention it..if they refuse..ask them to adjust the value..most are more than happy to

that's what I do, some will take the whole value, others like at LD will adjust the .01 cent...either way, you still get to use the coupon!

I agree that is depends on the cashier!

I've been to WM and some cashiers take the whole amount off, some only the price of the item off.

I always have a hard time at Zellers. They never let me use coupons if its more than the item. I tried to use a $2 off any glade for a candle that was on sale for $1.99 and they wouldn't allow it. But when I went over to Metro the cashier had no problem, she took off the whole $2.00.

Read the fine print on your coupon. Sometimes it says that GST and PST are included in the face value of the coupon. It helps to know this in advance so you can point it out to help argue your case if you need to

actually i had one cashier call a manager ... and the both refused, they would not lower it 1 cent, and when i said (nicely ) that lots of stores simply lower the price of the coupon ... the manager almost screamed at me "well if they don't wanna follow the policy, that's not what we do here" and she walked off not even letting me respond to that... i was so mad but couldn't really do anything cause i had my kid with me... sorry ... just had to mention that... probably just my luck.
