Thread: How do you Store your Coupons???
-
Mon, Jun 22nd, 2009, 09:34 PM #1Expired
I know there is a thread on this already, but I thought it would be more appropriate here.
______________________________________________
So,
1) How do you organize them?
2) What do you keep them in? and;
3) Do you carry all of them around with you on a shopping trip?
_________________________________________
1) I organize them in categorized envelopes, with least $ amount at the front and most $ amount at the back
2) I keep the envelopes in a plastic file folder
3) Only if I'm on a coupon-using related shopping trip, not a coupon-collecting trip.
If there are sales I know about, I'll go home and reorganize them, stacking to the maximum $ amount I can get at LD. Then I put the item name and $ amount on a paper and paperclip the coupons with it... so when I go in the store, I'll grab the item off the shelf~!
I'd Love to hear your ideas.. cause I think my file folder is getting a little bulgey!!

The ones that I know I would need, I keep them in a pencil case and carry it with me all the time.
The ones that are for trade, I keep them inside a courier bag and keep them at home.

1) How do you organize them?
- alphabetically. I've tried other ways, as by category of products, but I have too many coupons to be able to find them back easily. By organizing them alphabetically, it's easy and fast to find what I have and also to add to my collection.
2) What do you keep them in? and;
- at home, I have them filed in a shoe box. I also have one or two of each kind in two envelopes in my purse. One envelope has the smaller coupons like save.ca The other envelope has the standard size manufacturer coupons. . . all filed alphabetically.
3) Do you carry all of them around with you on a shopping trip?
- I do carry one or two of each kind with me when I'm shopping. (You never know when you're going to find an unexpected good deal.)I also go through the flyers each week, find the coupons for the products I plan to purchase and clip those to my shopping list.
I've only been using coupons for about 6 months but, already, I'm thinking I'm going to need a bigger purse!

1) How do you organize them?
From what I do have organized I put them in different groups. e.g. Hair colours, soaps, shave, foods, pet, baby etc...
2) What do you keep them in?
I only joined this site less than a month ago. I use to keep them in envelopes but it does get quite bulky. I read on here that people were putting them in small photo albums. LOL I first thought it was dorky but guess where I keep mine now?
3) Do you carry all of them around with you on a shopping trip?
I pick out the ones I know I'm going to use for that shopping trip. If I think there is a product I might buy I put that in the envelopes. For shopping I have a separate envie for Walmart, Shoppers and London Drugs. That way I'm not trying to find the ones I need in a big pile of coupons.Don't forget to click the green up arrow if you like someones post!

I file mine by category and by country (I live near the states and so I go shopping there once every few weeks) in a large photo album inside a carry bag. I'm not happy at the moment with the organization but I know that filing all the coupons for a particular product line together is helpful in the store. I haven't done any trading yet. The expired US coupons can be used by military families overseas for 6 months after they expire at their on-base stores, so I'm investigating sending them overseas. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the volume and my husband claims he finds piles of coupons everywhere! But I'm only just getting good at knowing which I'm really going to use. So trading comes next.

I'm new here too and don't have tons of coupons yet so I'm still experimenting with what works best but so far this is what I've done
I organize them into categories (baby, food, household, personal, misc, etc) and keep them in an accordian file. When I plan for my shopping trips, all coupons I am going to use are kept at the front and the ones that can be stacked are paperclipped together. Any for trade are kept in a separate file.
My accordian file isn't that large so I always take it with me when shopping. Never know when you are going to find a deal. Also I usually have both kids with me in the double stroller so I can just throw it in with them and don't have to carry it around. I may have to upgrade to a different system though if I keep accumulating couponsMay even need to get a binder

I've thought of sewing pockets on the inside of a lab coat and labelling with different themes - "soups", "hair products", "deodorants" - but then I woke up
- it would make a great Hallowe'en costume, though! - but only at a couponers' party!

I use accordian files. I have 2 small ones that I use in my purse. They are organized by expiry date and 1 is for food and the other for everything else. The coupons in my purse are only coupons that I know I will use or could possibly use if the product goes on sale. At home I have a large sized accordian file to store trading coupons also by expiry date.

1) How do you organize them?
I have them organized by category (food, bread, cereal, yogurt/cheese, milk, household, beauty, pet, etc) but after reading a few posts I think I might try doing the whole alphabetical thing.
2) What do you keep them in? and;
I have a small accordian file for the coupons I use myself and a larger accordian file at home for trades.
3) Do you carry all of them around with you on a shopping trip?
I have my personal accordian file one in my purse ALL the time. You never know when you might come across a sale. Like today for example. There is a sale on bread at GT and I have my coupons with me so I'm going to buy some on my lunch

I have a fivestar zippered binder separated by dividers for frozen food, bakery, cereal, canned, facial, hair, shave, etc... within each category my coupons are organized into baseball card sheets (perfect size for coupons). When I run into a prodcut on sdale/clearance I just flip to that category in my binder. I take it with me wherever I go- and yes it weighs about 5 pounds.
