I have an extra email account for newsletters/surveys/etc. Good way to keep the spamming away from my personal stuff.

As for the newsletter, I believe it just asked me if I wanted it when I signed up. Not quite sure though. It must be somewhere in the account properties/preferences.

The best thing to do is get a gmail account as you only need one address and gmail will filter out the emails you label as spam
