A Christmas brag... better late than never :-)

Money was pretty tight this Christmas but we were going to use my RBC points to get an iPOD deck for my stepdaughter, which was to be her main gift this year.

We ordered it from RBC back in early November, and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to deliver. When it hadn't arrived by mid-December, I called RBC to see what was up.

The rep told me that the deck had been shipped out the week before. When I told him I hadn't received it, he said they could do a trace but it would take 7-10 business days.

Christmas Eve was less than 10 business days away, so I knew I was in trouble. I made several calls to RBC and Fedex trying to find a quicker solution and playing the sympathy card to maximum effect, but no one was able to help. I started to panic a bit.

Then five days before Christmas, I got a call from RBC. They told me that the iPOD deck I had ordered had never been shipped and wasn't even in stock, but that they would send me a better dock (worth $50 more and much cooler than the one I had ordered) at no added cost.

It arrived the next day, and Christmas was saved! My stepdaughter loves her gift, we got to give her a great present for no money and RBC got to experience the joy that comes from doing a good deed - a Merry Christmas for all!
