I don't think these were well known but Before Sunrise and Before Sunset with Ethan Hawke are 2 of my favourite movies.
Before Sunrise came out in 1995 the year after I backpacked Europe for 10 weeks. As soon as I saw the previews I was dying to see it. I dragged my boyfriend at the time into the city to the only theatre playing it.
It's a romantic movie where 2 strangers meet on a train and spend the night in Vienna together and have to part knowing they will probably never see eachother again. It's slow but I just love it.
