I'm 8-9 weeks pregnant and i've been getting throbbing migraine headaches for about 2 weeks now, NOTHING makes them better, and i end up getting alot of nausea and fatigue. I have no other choice but to take tylenol.

I never got migraines before, but even with my 3 previous pregnancies. It's getting unbearable, cant keep up with the housework and 3 kids.

Unfortunatly my next appointment with the doc is on Nov 23. planning on going to the walk-in tmr, to rule out any complications.

has anyone gone through this before???

I have! Never had migraines ever, not even with first pregnancy. 2nd pregnancy I missed 4 days of work due to migraines, no fatigue or nausea though. Literally, from when I wake up in the morning til I fall asleep at night, my head is THROBBING! My doc said it's due to hormones. Hope that helps!

i read some really scary stuff on migraines during pregnancy, like how its related to cardiovasculor diseases... cant wait to talk to a doc. Really REALLY freaking out.

The wierd thing is i never even knew what a migraine was. BAD time to find out.

Nausea is so repetitve today, so is the throbbing migraine pain.

I've never been pregnant, but I know how you feel with the migrains, I find the liquid gel tylenol's work best, and then lying down in my bed with the lights off and ear plugs in, not the perfect scenario for when things need to get done, but otherwise I'm a crying mess and on the verge of throwing up constantly.

i HIGHLY recommend acupuncture for your preggo migraines!!!!!!!!!

i was getting them terribly in my 1st trimester, went to the spa a lot for prenatal massage which helped but the relief was only temporary until the next day. it was soo frustrating b/c i was doing all i can to alleviate the pain. then a girlfriend who was going thru the same thing recommended acupuncture as it worked for her and it was a BLESSING!.... the results last MUCH longer than massage. i've only had to go 2 other times since then and i'm now 38 weeks.

well the migraines are not getting ANY better, getting by with tylenol and prescription med. to stop the vomitting.

Went to emergency the day before yesterday, because i had a stiff PAINFUL neck along with a migraine. and 8-9 weeks pregnant. They gave me some medication, and the doc came in to tell me they need to test me for Meningitis, since i'm pregnant they couldnt do a body scan, because of the radiation, so the only thing they could do was a spinal tap , i was told that it kind of like getting an epidural. WELL IT WASNT.

the doctor was trying to get my spinal fluid to test for meningitis, but after 3 attempts on different parts of my spinalcord, he gave up, and it REALLY hurt, i could feel him hit my back bone with the needle. It still really hurts when i lie down, can turn quickly, have to take my time.

So eventually a neurologist came in and checked my out, said that since i dont have a fever, meningitis is very unlikely since its a kind of a brain infection. But i still couldnt move my neck along with a migraine. So they gave me around 5 bottles of IV for dehydration, and the doc said i need to increase my spinal fluids, because i lost alot during the continous vomiting and strain on neck muscles.

The pain is a little better, but only with tylenol, i can move my neck around a bit more. but still not at my best yet. Migraines come and go, ALWAYS feel like vomitting. I hope this goes away soon.

my neck and back are still arent that mobile, have to think twice before making any sudden moves. As for the migraine, i'm drinking alot of fluids to avoid it, when i do feel one coming, i take some tylenol. I just dread thinking about having a migraine again , to me personally its like someone is pulling all the veins in my head.

happy to say i'm MIGRAINE freeeeee for the past month!!!!

An assurance to all preg. moms out there with migraines during pregnancy, it does go away eventually, just check in with a doctor if you experience migraines for the first time during a pregnancy and they last for more then 48 hours.

    Awesome news!!

Something I read once that can help some people with migraines is to put a cold compress on the back of your neck and a warm one on your forehead, it changes the blood flow through your brain and can relieve some of the pressure. I've never tried it, but it's just something to file away in the 'just in case' file.

My usual remedy has been a couple of Advil and a chaser of Coke - the caffeine seems to help make it work faster. Unfortunately neither of those is recommended during pregnancy.

i hope you feel better soon.
the only other thing i can think of is that when ppl clench their teeth or grind them hard, during sleep, they can sometimes wake up with a severe headache, like a migraine.
whatever is causing it, hope it goes away soon.
