Thread: Any tips for cooking Rib eye steaks in oven? (cooking it tonight)

    I normally barbeque my steaks. Too cold outside to do that. Any tips on cooking rib eye steaks in the oven? I usually like mine medium-well done. Thanks!

    They need pan-searing before putting them in the oven.
    Use a spice mixture you like as a dry rub - leave in the fridge 3-4 hours, take out an hour before cooking.

    In a mix of 1 T oil and 1 T butter, sear sides of steak (don't forget edges) in pan on stove, then put in oven at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 min.
    Remove from pan, wait 15 minutes before slicing.

    Yes.
    But first you have to invite me over so I can see this steak.
    And after it is cooked, I have to taste it to see if it is good enough to eat.
    I'll have to taste it a few times.

    Nope! I'm Canadian I have barbequed in cold weather plenty of times.
