How do I find out how much ram my pc has?

I have been trying to install my kodak software & I think I don't have enough ram. The software says 128 and after checking my computer, it says 1,047,280 kb ram?

Right click on the My Computer icon on your desktop, click properties. A window should open up with a "General" tab and it should be listed there.

Thanks for your help, but this is what I did and got the 1,047,280 kb ram

Maybe its the windows version? Mine is xp, and the specs on the box accepts xp os. Is there a difference?

If I install window 98, will it crush my xp?

I just thought of another thing...

The requirements state 128mb ram & I seem to have 1,047,280 kb. I thnik kb are smaller than mb. So, I think I only have 1 mb? I really don't know much about computers.

The requirements also mention needing 600 MHz. How do I know haw much MHz I have?

That would calculate to 1000 MB of RAM.

For XP 64 MB of RAM is the bare minimum and that would limit performance. 128 is the recommended minimum and no one would really run it with that small an amount.

Under system properties (the same place you saw your RAM total) it should list the processor speed as well.

However, since it gave you such an odd number for RAM, I'd recommend getting a second opinion.

Download CPU-Z which is completely free.

Run it, and on the CPU tab, check "Core Speed" for the processor speed. Then select the memory tab and look under "size" for your RAM total.

    1 MB = 1024 KB
    1 GB = 1024 MB

I think that you have 1GB RAM in your PC but shared some memory with the integrated video card so the figure turns out is a little bit less than 1GB.

XP OS = XP operating system = XP

Right click 'My Computer'. Check 'Properties'. General tab - Under 'Computer'.
