My first thought is a nice bottle of ice wine.

The Ice Wine is a good idea and you could add those little trinkets that go onto the glasses (I have seen some that look like jewels, bling).

This is a great idea! A nice gift and it satisfies the "bling" theme! You can get those trinkets at just about any home goods store - I've seen them at Home Sense, Home Outfitters, The Bay, etc.

Another idea to throw out there, and this one also benefits a charity (Sick Kids Hospital), is from Bravery Hearts: There are hand-made bracelets (including unisex leather ones), and keychains. Price is around $20 and 20% of sale goes to Sick Kids. https://braveryheartsca.3dcartstores.com/
Satisfies the bling and unisex, with added charitable benefit.

    justamy:

Not everyone would appreciate a gift of this sort.
Why not think about a flashy tree ornament?
To me, 'bling' is not unisex at all so good luck.

a theme for gifts? that's a little silly.. it's limits your gifts plus everyones idea of bling is different.. but generally I think most people would think.. jewellery, expensive stuff so.. I say.. piss on it!

Goto the LCBO and buy one of those nice christmas gift packages of booze! Those are ALWAYS a hit at secret santa/gift grab parties. My dad bought for $20 a corona giftbasket.. 2 nice mugs and 2 large corona drinks. And the other gift was some niagara ice wine with fancy champagne flutes.

totally agree with you! before i found out about the theme i had bought an AWESOME party game (80's trivial pursuit) since we're all in our late 20's/early 30's...i thought that would be a really neat & fun gift! then i looked at the invite again and noticed the gift had a theme...bling lol!!!

at zellers today i saw these really nice sequined stockings & santa hats that were 30% off, so i picked them up...very "bling". i'm going to fill the hat and stocking and give them as part of them gift since they fit the theme.

The wine is always good. And a hint, ask the staff at the liquor store if they have glasses. I bought a really nice bottle of wine for a giftbasket and the girl ran to back and gave me two (really nice looking too) she said they always get lots of these freebies and to just ask. Often they don't have room on the shelf to put them.

My first thought when you said the gift had to be "bling" was a BIG tacky pimpin gold necklace. In fact it reminds me that last year I ended up with a "pimpin' pig" and he had lots of "Bling" on...LOL...just giving you some ideas
