Hi
does anyone know a good site where i could sell my used books?
theyre in store condition but are simply taking up too much space. ebay isnt good because people don't go there to search up books that are not popular "in the now"
Is there a section on smartcanucks i could sell these books? This thread is currently associated with: Ebay

if you live close to a university/college, you can also try their used bookstore
Or you could donate them to local libraryPM me for referrals to survey sites that pay

Even try a secondhand bookstore. They won't give you a lot for them probably, but better than nothing and they're out of your way!

Try your local University/College used bookstore for sure....especially if any of your books are ones they use in course work (and you'd be surprised with some of the books that are studied in course work). Some second-hand bookstores will take them though they usually seem to give store credit in exchange rather then cash.
If you end up just getting rid of them see if your local hospital or old-age homes or shelters might like them. Women's Shelters are very particular with what they will take (certain subject matter is, for obvious reasons, not acceptable) but depending on what you have they might be happy for it. You could even see if they provide tax receipt for the book donation.

Yes -- try the university (student-run) used bookstore, if they're books that are currently being used. You might want to stroll through the university bookstore to see what kinds of titles are needed. Sometimes you can search their bookstore online, too. You can sell books on consignment at the student association bookstore even if they're not the most current edition.
I've actually bought books there when they've cleared out the ones not picked up after the consignment period for the year was up, and they were selling them off for $2.00. Some were really handy for my high school classroom, and others.... well... is it bad to say that I resold them the following September for much more than I paid? ;-) I also found some current textbooks at garage sales and book sales that I could sell. It helped me buy my books for the courses I was taking part time.
You can also post ads on bulletin boards at the university, but you generally have to get student association approval (they stamp the notice).
I wouldn't think Kijiji would be too useful, but that depends on the type of books you're selling, and if you want to sell a bunch of them at once.
