Couldn't pay for SDM GC with Mc

A few months back, my nearest SDM suddenly decided they will only accept cash as payment for gcs and call cards. They told me it has something to do with fraud. I called HO to complain, I don't know what came out of it.

I used my Shopper's MC last weekend to buy gift cards with absolutely no problem. Seems like a large difference from store to store.

I don't mind obeying store policy, if it is actually written somewhere. I haven't had this happen yet, but I was denied last week wanting to buy an AMEX prepaid card with my SDM GC. The cashier also said that I could only pay for that with cash or debit, but the shoppers are not notified about this anywhere.
