4:51 in the morning, and its a warm humid night. Gonna try to land a portable a/c unit tomorrow - hate not being able to lay down comfortably....

The sun is actually shining, so I hoping to take my grandson down the river in our raft today. I'm a bit leary as the river is high for this time of year, but it is moving pretty slowly, and it will be our first day of camping to hit the water for some fun. It looks like clear skies ahead for the rest of the week and the weekend, so I'm smiling

I woke up sweating this morning at 6:30am. It doesn't bode well when I wake up sweating.
At 10am, its currently 29C and with the humidex it supposedly feels like 41C.
The projected high for today is 34C. mmmm, Can't wait.Last edited by ninna; Fri, Jul 6th, 2012 at 10:13 AM.

It rained yet again, but in the wee hours of the morning, so I'm good with that. This morning, the sun is shining, and not a cloud in the sky. We are taking our grandson to hike the hodoos in the valley this morning, and to an old abandoned coal mine later on. Then back to the campsite to rest and enjoy the afternoon.
It is suppose to be 26 today with nothing but sunshineWe all need a little sunshine every now and then

it is lightly raining now, which is good b/c it has been so hot and dry here lately.
This afternoon is supposed to go up to 29 with a humidex of 31.

lol. I misread your post initially. I thought you said it was a good day to stay inside and stew, not sew. haha. And I was thinkin', "darned skippy! That's what I'll be doing! Stewing about the heat. Feeling like I'm living in a stew." hahahaha.

I <3 my portable A/C. We don't need it all that much here in NS, but for those days we do, what a relief! It sits on the floor on wheels, and vents out the window with little fuss. When we go out we take it out, because the window isn't locked when that is in. It's quite hot and humid here now (for me - 25 is hot for me!), but the A/C is noisy, so it's off for now.
We were in Chester, NS on Monday (on our way to a cabin for a couple of days), and while we were at a playground, heard lots of thunder in the distance. No problem, I love thunderstorms, although I prefer to be safely indoors when they come. We left the playground a short time later to head for the cabin, were driving along a highway and still hearing thunder, started to see lightning. A few minutes later there were a few drops of rain on the windshield, then suddenly, SPLAT, it was like someone poured a huge amount of water over the car. Seconds later it was a major downpour with hail, the wipers couldn't keep up, I couldn't see but was afraid to pull onto the narrow shoulder because I thought if I can't see, the folks behind me can't either and we'd be hit. Fortunately I came across a carpool parking lot a couple minutes later and pulled in there to wait it out. I don't think I've ever seen such rain here (and I've seen major rain when I lived in Florida).
Near Halifax they got some hail too, Sackville had marble size hail, but not at my house, my tomato plants on my deck were fine when I got home!
