the storm hasn't started here yet, however, the winds are already gusting at 78km/hr...it's gonna be wild later..
Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring. Snow, heavy at times, will spread over northeastern Newfoundland this evening, and then continue overnight and through Saturday, though may occasionally mix with ice pellets over the Terra Nova National Park area late tonight. Total amounts are forecast to reach 30 to 50 cm, with the bulk of the accumulation occurring during nighttime hours. In addition, strengthening north to northeasterly winds will accompany the snow resulting in blizzard conditions, with gusts expected to range from 80 km/h inland to 110 km/h along the coast. Conditions will improve late Saturday afternoon as winds ease and the snow tapers off. Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve

The storm has been wild here since about 3pm. 80km winds, lots of snow and lightening. Our power is gone. Hopefully it is back on before morning. I can't see them being able to repair it in these conditions.

Hopefully we don't lose power but very possible...I'm ready if it does; lots of food, wood, books, candles/flashlights, etc AND I have my ski-doo helmet in case I have to go outside for any reason and it's really stormy/windy lol

Storm is over. Power was out for 14 hours so everything is a little cold (we have electric heat). Today it's just windy, -2. Still waiting for the plow but at least we have power and the snow has stopped.

SummaryBlizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring. Between 30 to 45 cm of snow has fallen since Friday afternoon. Snow, at times heavy, will continue today with additional amounts of 5 to 10 cm. In addition, strong northerly winds have developed over the area, ranging from 80 km/h inland to 110 km/h along the coast. The winds are combining with the fresh and falling snow to produce blowing snow to blizzard conditions. Conditions will start to improve later today as the winds begin to ease and the snow tapers off. Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
