WINTER STORM WATCH
Issued at 10:38 Monday 13 February 2017
Winter storm conditions are possible Tuesday and Wednesday.
A low pressure system is still expected to cross southeast of Newfoundland Tuesday night into Wednesday. However, an eastward shift in the low's track has delayed or reduced the amount of snow expected over the northeast coast.
At this time, snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are forecast by the end of Tuesday with additional amounts likely Tuesday night and Wednesday. Accumulations will be somewhat variable, with the highest amounts likely occurring in enhancement from onshore flow, especially over elevated terrain.
Strong northeasterly winds gusting between 60 and 80 km/h are likely to reduce visibility in blowing snow. There is a chance some exposed areas of the coast may see gusts nearing 100 km/h.
Conditions are expected to taper off to flurries late on Wednesday.

@KelJo -Northeasterly winds in 60-80 kph zone-that can be unnerving. Are snow fences common in your area?
Weak sunshine now looking down on glassy snowy yards. Branch pickup already done. Slush froze -3C feeling like -9C now.
Last night, the public sidewalks were a few inches deep with slush and town had not plowed the sidewalks. Don't know what state they are in now but I'm staying put at home.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

To all in Atlantic Canada-you really have winter! Carb your way through the shovelling. Hope the winds and drifts stop soon. I've seen the weather photos on Twitter-even the Weather Network crews have had to let Mother Nature hold the upper hand.
Love today's sunshine. Notice interesting thin and lateral lacy ice on each edge of the walks this morning before they melted. Don't get that effect often in winter. Since I don't enjoy walking in rain too much, I have to pop out and get errands down before today's rain tags me (still remember Sunday night's slop falling from sky while on the way to Shoppers).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
