One of the reasons I type p0rn and similar words wrongly is to avoid all the ads I don't want to get.

usually they are clever enough to include those wrong words too though, but it does help a bit

Well, I don't have a baby and don't ever look at babies online, but I'm constantly getting Nestlé baby ads.

I think often it's demographic information that they've gathered and not past search results. I'm at an age where they probably assume I have a baby or young children at home. I've never searched baby products, but the baby ads keep coming.

Maybe they're trying to tell me to get a move on....tick, tock, tick, tock.

The way it works is that when they sign up as an advertiser, they give google a list of keywords that prompt that ad to be shown, so if cougar choose certain words (even ones unrelated to its site) that you have searched or frequent websites using those words.

I use AdBlock+ and don't see any ads.

I have SC and other websites I frequent whitelisted, they make the money that pays for the servers to run the website through ads only and I am happy to help out by clicking on ones that interest me and keep the site owners in business

I will try sometimes to do that also. A couple sites I have even donated money through paypal or buying premium membership. A site I go to a lot sells premium membership for a 1 time $10 charge. It helps them and opens up a couple forums not everyone has access to.

Yes, that was discussed a few pages back and Boo isnt interested as there are so many complaints that people may be talking about others in there, posting deals that others can't see so they don't go as quickly etc

We have paid memberships like that for a work related site, its nice to have a paid lounge that is non-searchable from google etc where you can discuss more private matters

Just that the face book and blog contests are all lumped together as I prefer to enter the face book contests. Lots of hunting through them.

I will ask Boo if prefixes can be added to them so they can be sorted like the trains

I didn't mean boo should do it:), just that I have seen it and paid for it because I felt it was worth it. The only forum that you got was like a tearoom type forum where you could just shoot the s**t as "premium members" lol. but it was a technical website and you also got unlimited use of their tools for free. :)

same with the one I am on, it is just a lounge but some topics not allowed on the forums (politics religion etc) are allowed. Making people pay for a debate section keeps it politer - trolls are cheap lol
