I don't think you're lying. :-) It may just not be showing on your screen for some reason. But it is in the shopping deals section, where you wanted it I assume.
I've had the same thing happen with trade posts!!!!
I couldn't find some of them if I searched with the search square or scroll thru the pages...I've had to go thru my subscription list to find it and it shows there, shows what section its in, but it doesn't appear on the threads title page area. I also know they aren't expired cus it wasn't marked...this was a while ago, and thought it was just a minor bug....(does any of this make sense?)
well I am glad I am not the only one... this is the second time today this has happened to me... I did one about krispy Kreme which I can't find on the Thread Post list ( I did it under Deals).
I was thinking that one of the monitors hated me and was hiding my threads on me...
I'm wondering about the contest section. Right now there are no subdivisions, and it is nice that people have been posting whether it's daily, monthly, etc. and the expiry.
I would like there to be some way to designate what 'type' of contest it is - regular online entry, blog, twitter, etc. I end up wasting time clicking on contests that sound interesting, only to find it's a blog or twitter contest which are methods I don't want to enter by - just as an example.
Right now, all dead contests are being expired. :) The new sections are something that I hope will be upcoming. I think designating contests any further is something that will have to be written in titles by the user posting it. If people get wordy with their titles, others may follow. There is a LOT of room in titles, so I don't know why people don't take advantage of that.
I would love to see the contest section to separate the daily from monthly and once only.
The other thing that irks me is when I start to do a search and then realize that I need to do it as an advanced search when I click 'advanced search' I have to type the search words in again. I don't know if it would be difficult to do but could any search info that was types in be carried to the advanced search? If there is 'nothing' then it carries that too. If it is easy to make happen it would be helpful. Please and thank-you.
I would love to see people with more then 2 referral links, have the courtsery to remove them themselves
People had problem's with pics in signy, as you see mine is gone. There are people who are reading and posting on this thread and still not respecting what people have to say, plus it is a RULE of SC no more then 2 referral links, to clarify a referral link is something that you have in your signy that can be clicked on, however if you were smart enough to hyperlink it, I'm sure you know it is a referral link.
Woah, you'd think I was having a bad day or some thing ;)
lol Not a bad day...I totally agree!!!
Especially when they are posting in this thread and their signatures have 5 referals in them and takes up more room than their actual posts!!! And then I see the mods responding to them...but no mention of their multiple referals.
And I dont want to block it out...I find some useful and do sign up for somethings.
Trying to control people's signatures is like fighting a losing battle on this forum. I know the mods say, please report them because we can't possibly catch each one, but, I report and I hear from other people too that they've been told reporting isn't going to do anything because the person has been warned and that Boo has his eye on them... ya so that means nothing to going to happen about it.
I know there are new members all the time that add signatures, more than 2 signatures and/or referral banners and they do not know about the rules, so I do not blame these people. It needs to be made clear, perhaps in the edit signature spot, that would be a good idea, for there to be a note, please do not add more than two referral links and absolutely no banners, that way if you edit it, it will prompt you to follow the rules.
It's the people who know the rules, because people in threads have pointed it out to them and/or mods have contacted them and they blatantly still choose to keep their multiple links in their signatures like it's okay and think they are beyond the rules. Now that is irritating.
I think mods or admin have the ability to themselves edit out signatures in members' signatures, this should be happening if people are not following rules and have been warned.
Thanks for the reply, AmberLab!
Hey there, I am pretty new at this. I love your site, and it has helped me a lot, so thank you very much.
There is just one thing that would improve your site. It would be great if members could mark off each contest that they entered, rather than posting a thank you in each post. All the "thank you"s make each post longer and harder to read through. And after entering 100's of contests sometimes it's hard to remember which ones I have entered. There is another website that I use that has this feature (www.contestgirl.com) and it works quite well. Is there any way that smartcanucks.ca could add this? Or maybe it already exists and I am just too stupid to figure it out. If it does I would be psyched for any help.
Keep up the good work. :)
A lot of people like myself, post thanks you for 2 reasons. First it allows us to thank the person who posted the contest. Second, by making a comment in the post it allows us to know which contest we have entered. When you post a comment in a thread a blue check-mark will appear on the thread page (see image below). So I know I entered the contests with a blue check...but I do agree that if there was another way to keep track of contests I would be game
Holy smokes, as a newbie I cannot tell you how helpful this imagery and explanation was. I also (as a direct result of your pic) discovered the little blue down arrow that shoots you to the last unread post. Phew! Saving me oodles of scrolling over here! Thanks. :)
