I can see what ccmp is talking about too. I am just having a bit of trouble visualizing it. What comes to mind is something that is a lot of work and upkeep, depending on how quickly codes change. Not something mods will be able to take on, but I will add it to my "Boo-Do List" anyway.

I have way to much on my plate to do it and do know how much work it would be.Kinda like the printable couple sticky would be nice because there are often times I am hunting for a shipping code and as mentioned before the search tools are not the best

Also with elf, it's not just free shipping codes, it's codes for discounts or free products too.
And ya I agree, I think everyone's suggestions here are fair, and you should be able to say what you want. So I encourage it.

I think there should be consideration for the threads that have ongoing activity because as I said before they always get bumped and knock out current deals. Sometimes a "hot" deal slips by because it get bumped so quickly to the bottom by the constant updating for the ones with codes etc. that they are missed,
Also not all deals make the blog but I notice the "code" ones do make it more often than not.
I am talking about ALL the weekly ones, Old Navy, Sears, Huggies, SDM Tell a friend, ELF and MAC. If they are that important to so many people then maybe they should have a dedicated place.

I don't notice the bumping of threads because I just go through the "new posts" and update my own threads by going through my threads list if there is anything to update at the time. If it's at the top of the list or not doesn't really bother me.
So.. what do you guys suggest for these types of deals? I don't post MAC free shipping codes on the blog because I don't think there is much need to, I have before and go no comments so I took that to mean that people didn't care for it, which is totally fine. As for ELF, Boo made a blog post about my thread earlier.

This is the error I get :
Fatal error: Cannot use assign-op operators with overloaded objects nor string offsets in /home/sites/sc/forum.smartcanucks.ca/profile.php(3807) : eval()'d code on line 1

Wish you could delete your own posts. Sometimes it's a repost or wrong section or wrong info. Would save some work for your crew as well!

Boo already addressed this earlier in the thread:
- Well sometimes people expire things prematurely... e.g. as soon as a freebie is over they expire it which kills the opportunity to discuss it. So what I've done is enabled the expire feature in places where the threads are mostly personal... e.g. trading etc. but in other places I disabled it otherwise threads will be dying too quickly.

I posted in that thread, I stickied it and was gonna keep it a sticky for a month or so because it was reposted about 20 times by different sc'ers and I got tired of merging it daily lol, so this way a larger number of people could view it..........
since its a fab idea and the original poster should get the credit and thumbs up for it

I help Boo out with a ton of the admin tasks. Cashback is being worked on. I was just away for over a week and have a double inner ear infection right now, so cashback is not a priority this week, me getting healthy is.
But I do owe an update, what Im doing is settling accounts, making sure amounts are right then compiling a list thats being ffwd to Boo and he is going to be sending out the paypal payments.
I have over 3500 emails that im chucking through, people will be paid thats not the issue. The issue is trying to get through all these emails and requests.
cough cough lol :D I could use an assistants assistant.

I'm not apart of the cash back fiasco....yet, no just kidding. From what I remember people were asking for their transactions to be displayed and/or paid out a loooooong time ago. Sorry you have an ear infection but honestly if this was straightened out in the beginning (by whomever was responsible at the time) you probably wouldn't be having to go through 3500 emails. So basically what I was saying before is Boo should Hire (paid and all, money helps motivate people) someone (who has the time) to deal with pay outs from cash back and prizes asap. SC is a great site, but this issue could be ruining it's reputation IMHO.

Ya, I toally understand. The quick rundown is Boo had me run cashback, I worked on it for over a year getting it more organized and efficient. Then he got a new system, at the risk of us becoming not friends over the something as silly as a new system (that i didnt like) I stopped doing cashback and he took it back over. Boo being as busy as it is just didn't have time to put all the work into it. So now i've volunteered to help him straighten accounts out of all this mess
Hope that makes sense. I made a post about it a while ago but it was in a non visited area haha.
Edit, thanks Bubs.... U want to come over and help me stop walking into walls and tripping? My balance is soooo off! I even fell in the shower for no good reason.Last edited by Sally888; Tue, Jan 26th, 2010 at 06:41 PM.
