Oh. My. Word. I just came home from the most stressful shopping experience ever (I hate going on weekends - it's just too crazy busy) and found the nicest surprise sitting on my front door from glenglen!
She gave me:
a lovely note
a reusable shopping bag
two scented oil tins
a bag of mini rolo dark chocolates (these will be gone in about an hour, and no, I'm not getting any help. Anyone who tries to "help" will probably lose a hand :-) )
a scented laundry magnet set in the shape of flowers from Avon
a Valentine cup
a pendant and earring set
an insulated bag
an anti-frizz detangling comb
a mini pedicure set
a card case
a box of dark raisinets (again, no help necessary to finish these.... :-) )
and a sparkly pink lip gloss!

I'm so mad, I get my DH to stop the reno's he's doing to watch DD while I run to SDM to pick up my package. (Yesterday they left a pick up notice)
The girl scanned my slip...it's not there!!! I told her the slip I got yesterday said pick up after 1pm tomorrow. Well, she told me that didn't mean Saturday!!!!
If you get the slip on Friday you should know that nexy day really means Monday!!!!
Why the he!! wouldn't they say pick up Monday after 1pm on the card? What a huge waste of my time!
Now I'm super excited to get me package, even though I'm mad as heck at Canada Post I think having to wait is making it even more exciting.

Daisybear, I hear ya on canada post. I got a slip to pick up a package. So I go to the SDM near me where we usually get our packages. She tells me its not there but at the SDM on the other side of town. Not that our city is huge. It only takes 7 minutes to get from one to the other but still. She even said it was their fault since it should have gone to the one closer to me, no you think. :shrug::)
Daisybear that really sucks! Cabmonk I hear you also-I live in between Red Deer and Sylvan Lake and my address is Red deer county so my packages are sent to Red Deer post office for me to come pick up but then one time we go there to pick the package up and the lady says it's in Sylvan!!!:rant: So we had to drive to Sylvan to get it. Also a couple months ago I got a notice to come pick up a package and we made a special trip because a blizzard was supposed to hit that night and we would not be able to get in to town again for a couple days and then it wasn't even there yet and if we waited an hour then it might be on the truck that was on it's way there!!! grr! sorry-I hate Canada post and sorry about going on a rant like this. :embarassed: Daisybear that really sucks and they should have said on the card that it meant Monday-goodness knows they can afford the ink becaues of the money they charge people to send packages.

Its all good, its not like a 7 min drive is a big deal. Just thought it was funny that so quickly she was like, yup its our fault it happens all the time. :rolleyes:
Forget to add: I get to the other SDM and a friend of mine who worked for canada post for 30 years was there shopping. I tell him what happened. He rolls his eyes and says yup canada post for you.

I joined these exchanges (I joined 2!) because I start back to work from my Maternity Leave on February 1st.... so I figured I'm going to need a 'pick me up; after having such an amazing year off with my DS. So, hopefully 1 package will arrive on Monday... cuz I think I'm gonna need it!!! :cry:
I sent mine express on Friday. Now I thought when I asked for insurance it would give me a number but it didn't. I think I asked for the wrong thing. Oh well.
If you sent it express it usually automatically has insurance. If they gave you a receipt it should have your tracking # some where on it. :)Quote:

we don't get our packages delivered to the door. our mailman only brings envelopes to the mail box because we are in the country. Even bigger envelopes are left at the post office automatically and we just get a notice. grr. oh well. Sometimes I get a notice and go to the post office and I am like I came all the way here for THIS?? Stuff that totally would have fit in my mailbox. oh well. Cabmonk for me to go to Sylvan is a 20-25min drive so that is frustrating. It is funny tho how I think every person has had some kind of experience with Canada post! lol
Its funny that you mention them giving you a notice for something that would have fit in your box. I have a po box and I check it once a week after work about 7.15am which is before the counter opens at 8.30. I got a card once and had to go back a few days later to the counter to pick up my package. As they handed it to me the clerk actually rolled her eyes and said, they could have put this in your box.
