Good discussion guys! Just to add, I don't think I have ever heard a bank refusing or turning down an individual from opening a savings or checking account. I have a friend who has claimed bankruptcy three times and is able to open savings and checking accounts.

And what’s the point of a bank doing a credit check when there’s not credit involved.

i do know of people getting turned down from opening a bank account because of bad credit.

Do you mean how do you access your funds held at ING? You just link it to your checking account and make transfers back and forth.
