Also, I see that there are posts with a # symbol before the company name, what exactly does that do?

For the contest that I just won the # symbol behind it is a way to follow the contest. If you search for the name with # behind it it will show you all the posts related to that topic, from everyone. So when everyone is supposed to enter at a certain time it is very helpful.

I hope that made sense lol.

You can try it by doing it with the contest I just won (and to try and win their next contest) in the twitter search thing search for #thebigtoybook . Also for that contest they require you to put that in your tweets.

Haha, I know. I just figured it out today, so I don't have an easy way of explaining it.

And yes, if you put @ and then someones name they will see it. You can also search for your own name to see if anyone has mentioned you, or if you've won a contest.

I thought this might come in handy for those learning how to Twitter... or whatever you want to call it I'm still not quite sure yet what I am doing. In order to win something does the company have to follow you as well?

Yeah I was wondering about that too ... how do you find out if you won a contest on twitter ... like how do they notify you ??? and how do they know you entered a contest if there not following your tweets .. I've had twitter for awhile but never really used it until a couple of days ago
