Any Pai Gow players out there? You would appreciate the value of this hand that I got dealt yesterday in Brantford:

2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 (no flush)

The second-lowest possible hand. For some reason, nobody seems to play with the 'Pai Gow Insurance' bonus except me. Five bucks at 100/1 for a 9-high lob-lob.

hey psells.....I play Pai Gow all the time when i go to Vegas.....sure glad I didn't play dealer with that hand....although there were times I got just a bad hand and had to pay off everyone at the table

congrats on finding you camera just before you had to leave, ecat. not sure where you live, but one solution may be to stay at a motel near the airport for tonight so you don't have to get up so early to leave your house. the rodent & i did that a couple of years ago when we went to Florida. we had a 6am flight, stayed at a motel close by, the motel shuttled us to the airport & my car was able to stay there for free for the entire time we were there. when we got back, just called the motel shuttle & they picked us back us & brought us back to the motel where my car was. have a great trip, take lots of pics & most important, have FUN.

I couldn't figure out if that was because of it being the last cut-off day in June, or cos people leave it to the last minute ( which I will not be doing again!!!!!)....

Your first mistake is never wait till the end of the month to renew your license because everyone else does.
Second your license expires on your birthday not at the end of the month.

I always bank on my turn unless there is just way too much money on the table. With the insurance I had on that hand, it would have still been a win if it had been my bank. There was only about $120 in play.

Psychology is interesting - people play the bonus that pays out if they have 3 of a kind or better, but don't play the insurance that pays out if they have ace-high or worse. I play both and they balance out (both are sucker bets in the long run, but so is stepping in the door in the first place).
