....well, another quiet day around here...the boys are at work ( both at the same place, and it's a 7 a.m. start)....hubby starts his new job Monday, but he got a call yesterday that his dad, who is 83 and pretty frail, had called the hospital and had an ambulance take him there, since he couldn't stand up....we're just waiting till there's a space opened up in an assisted living facility for him, he just can't manage on his own any more....
.....hubby came home from the hospital after getting the asessment from the docs, and packed a bag to head off to move in with his dad till Sunday..hubby's bro is retired, so he and his wife will come in for Monday and stay till such times as the assisted living place has a spot for him.....
......this wonderful man, who I have had the pleasure of calling my Father-in-law, has been nothing but kind and considerate, loving and caring, and has such a beautiful spirit.... it's sad to see his light growing dim, but since his wife, my "kindred spirit" Mother-in-law, died in '06, he has ploughed a lonely furrow, and I think he's just tired now....I will miss him when he leaves us....TR

....sad news indeed....my favourite movie with him in it was Some Like It Hot.....couldn't be a better cast.... Marilyn was in it too, and I absolutely adore her, so it's one of those "can't miss" movies that I watch whenever it's on TV....and I still LMAO!!!.....TR

Flinstones 50 years old today...a classic. My kids never watch it.

Some of the dialogue is very dated, I won't say 'inappropriate' because you have to take it in context. Example, they're filming a western movie in Bedrock and the line "There's more Indians here than at an all-night movie theatre" is used twice. And the gender roles, again to be taken in context.
