I arrived early, to lay claim to a couch
So none of us would have to stand or lean or crouch
I headed straight to the back & imagine my dismay
When I saw a cavernous space, all furniture taken away!
I managed to snag a little table that only had one chair
I figured if worse came to worse, at least we all could share.
I kept staring at the empty space & I was not alone
I could tell other folks were bothered by their looks & their tone.
Then 2 young men carried out something odd from the back
& I didn`t know whether to scream out loud or have a heart attack.
I went off to stake my claim, but the other folks were quicker
So I harumphed & watched another empty space & took a swig of liquor.
& when I spied the young men with another part of a bench
I went & stood at the empty spot, smiling, but firmly entrenched.
So I claimed the couch but then some folks came to claim a spot
I tried to argue friends were on their way, but my words were for nought.
Soon Argo & her DH arrived & the strangers thought it best
To retreat gracefully before being put to the test.
Psells got there around that time, but the light was dark & dim
& while I thought I recognized, I wasn`t sure it was him.
I had my magnet on the table, the sign of smartcanucks
& Argo went out with hers to try & press her luck
Soon she found ecat, & maggierocks too
& eventually Reckless came to join our crew.
So we sat on the comfy couches only getting up to stand
To get out on the dancefloor & get a closer look at the band.
Argo stared crieS crieD boy down, tho it`s beyond me
Why she didn`t tell us what was up & bring along her posse.
Psells tried to keep the thread updated, with his fancy new toy
While the gals sat & chatted, & the boys were boys.
I know I`m missing lots of stuff, but my mind`s not yet awake
Going on 4 hours sleep is a little hard to take
But we had fun! & that`s the most important thing!
So...who`s up for a party at Sugar Beach sometime in the spring?

Yup $150.00 for a cab ride. We talked the guy down from $175.00. I remember about 5 years ago we did the same thing after a concert and we only paid $75.00 flat rate!!!!! Flippin inflation!!!!
