I found out later that this was the first time this song has been performed publically by Sir Paul, which makes sense since the Beatles had stopped touring long before the White Album.

The sound when the Roadie placed a Hofner bass on stage was deafening. I have no idea what was coming out of my mouth but I probably sounded like a little girl at Shea Stadium (just like everyone else).

Sir Paul's performance was flawless in every respect. He belted out the raunchy vocal of this tune like it was 1968. We couldn't think, speak or react in any way other than to scream and jump. The mezzanine started to pulse up and down which in retrospect was a bit alarming.

Paul seemed genuinely moved and a bit choked up when he embraced Ringo at the conclusion. We spent the rest of the evening and all of Thursday trying to comprehend that we had seen the two living Beatles on stage together.

Thanks P, just reading this has brought me to tears AGAIN!

What a magic moment that was, the 'delicious' icing on the cake!

He's played it before. I don't know how regularly it was played, but he did play it on the 1990 tour behind Flowers in the Dirt. The Knebworth performance appeared on Tripping the Live Fantastic:

What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?

They both look good until they hit the ice.

Danced? We just chilled to it. Typically, in somebody's basement, with the black light on. Yes, "That 70's Show" could have been filmed in Etobicoke!! Whatever happened to black-light posters?

Courage is not the absence of fear but acting in spite of it.

Okay thanks. One of the reviews got it wrong and I am guilty of passing it along without checking. Did I mention we saw Paul & Ringo on stage together?

Could have been a one-off, the one that appeared on the live album was performed for John's birthday.

Did I mention we saw Paul & Ringo on stage together?
I THINK I read that somewhere once or twice.

However here are my three thousand words on the trip! As I said, not as professional as Rolling Stones shots taken from the first row, but not too bad for a cheapie camera I was able to sneak in my purse!

Gotta grab some much needed zzzz's as off to work tomorrow.

    See ya then!
nice pics, sounds like you had a wonderful time.
