not only did i not get the DS which i did not want LOL but they took my points for it, I emailed them on Friday and nothing so far , will i get my points back?

I had a prize cancelled before - I don't recall how long it took but I did have to email about getting my points back - so make sure you make note of it to remind them you want/need your points back if you don't hear from them.

Just an FYI- it works the opposite way too. I had stuff shipped from Canada to US that I had to pay customs duties and taxes on. I've also had stuff shipped that I didn't pay for. US Customs doesn't scan everything- just random items. Canada probably works the same way. You could decide to roll the dice to see if they catch your package or not. I had a monthly shipment from Switzerland that the US ask me to pay duties for once in 3 years. I just returned it (& paid the return shipping). It was, for me, worth the gamble.

It depends what the shipper also writes on the Declaration sticker.. If its claimed as a gift, you won't pay taxes on it. I have not paid any duty taxes on items that were declared as a gift.. or declared otherwise that was written off as having little value.
