Nothing free today but I have a question and thought some of you coupon experts can help:
When you have a free product coupon, is the store supposed to charge you tax on a taxable free item? I think Shoppers doesn't because they use a coupon code that takes off the tax but I find that sometimes Walmart does not and other stores like RCSS, Freshco, and Food Basics usually charges the tax on a free item.

I find it frustrating that some cashiers are not trained properly or they are not consistent within the same store. I don't think they actually read the coupon details sometimes. It does not feel free when you have to pay the taxes.
