first round of pit stops are under way on lap 61, ryan newman has lead most of the laps with kahne, gordon & smith leading a lap during pit stops. smith just coming in to pit giving the lead to kahne.

kurt busch almost didn't make the race when his car didn't pass final inspection before the race. his car was 1/32 off & had to fix it. they were just pushing him on the track just as the cars were going for pace race laps. mike was going to have a word with penske cause this apparently wasn't the first time this has happened. kurt had qualified 5th.

ryan had came out of the pits 13 seconds behind kahne. not a good pit stop.

caution out for debris on turn 1 or possibly oil as well

david ragan gets the free pass. pit stops were 20 laps ago. possibility of 2 tire stop only.

kahne, newman, gordon out of the pits, but a couple of drivers didn't pit.

martin & montoya didn't pit, so they are 1st 2nd.

martin in the lead & kahne trying to pass montoya.

martin is out from by a second & a half.

kahne finally slides by montoya

montoya has gone backwards, been passed by newman, gordon & harvick

kahne has caught martin & is trying to pass.

jeff has passed newman for 3rd. kahne still can't get around martin. martin has lead 26 laps so far., kahne 22, newman 62.
