apparently the bad weather from Daytona followed the drivers to Pheonix, cause last night it poured buckets. This was the 1st time in 70 days that Pheonix had rain. Due to the rain, Nascar will call an early competition yellow, so crews can check the condition of the tires & make tire changes. They are NOT allowed to fuel the car during this caution. The engines have fired & they are getting on the track to do their warm up laps.
500 miles or 312 laps, air temp 65 degrees in the sun, track temp 86 degrees with a slight breeze.
