I have read a lot over the years for dressing for your body type, However I have never seen my body type listed.
I have very thin arms and legs and a big fat body. I am not being hard on myself I just don't know how better to describe it.
I am very long bodied, and high waisted. I have broad shoulders and back, big boobs and my waist does go into and hourglass shape.
My hubby says I have an hourglass figure with 20 minutes extra sand.
I will try and post some pictures to give you a better idea, and I am really looking for some honest opinions on
WHAT NOT TO WEAR!!!!
(especially I want some suggestions for Vegas...)
So keep your eyes peeled for polls asking which outfits look better on me.This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Before we start, yes I am overweight! but I can wear most shorts and skirts because I believe I have shapely legs.
I do have a bit of celulite at the very tops of my thighs,
but throw me in a pair of heels and cover the top 4" of my legs and they are pretty fine.
The problem begins when you ad the body on top of them....
And I don't know if I have the nerve to show the rest of the picture.....

It just boggles my mind when people squeeeeeeeeeeze into something that is clearly not their size.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN GET IT ON DOES NOT MEAN IT FITS!!!
I live by this rule.
I've had my times where I am heaviER than normal such as after giving birth and it's like ... okay I can either dress in a different size or I can squeeze into my old stuff and look like sausage links.
I mean really people - LOL ... it's not hard.
Flatter the body you have. Everyone can look amazing if they wear things to suit their proportions. Not the proportions they wish they had. If you are embarrassed about your size - cut the tags off and no one needs to know. What matters is that you will look better than something that should be on a hot dog bun

I have a very large chest, but the rest of my body is medium build. This means that tops never fit me and I end up wearing unflattering maternity tops all the time, pregnant or not I feel like a blob all the time wearing them.
I am looking into reduction surgery so I can start wearing some "normal" tops (not to mention reducing the pain they cause).Last edited by maidennomore; Tue, Apr 20th, 2010 at 01:21 PM.

ok so what I think would look good would be a lowrise pant or skirt to elongate teh waist
Make sure the pants are straight cut as if they are skinny around the legs it will make your top look heavier
As for a top get something that has the empire waist and not too low cut but a v neck or scoop neck to elongate the neck. Overall in theory you should look tall and classy with an hourglass shape.
Hope this kinda helps.........Keep it carbed......
