If you head to your local clinique counter, they have a few specific shades that are PROVEN to make your teeth seem a shade whiter. Clinique is a bit more on the expensive side (18 a tube at the bay), but so worth it. Of course, I'm a clinique snob, so...

Anything with a blue (cool) undertone will make them appear whiter.

i agree with the countess, blue undertoned lip colours as opposed to warm undertones.
MAC's "Russian Red" is an example of a blue toned lipstick.
