Just recd. an e-mail from SPC card folks. If anyone is still looking to buy one for current year which will end on July 31st, Payless ShoeSource has SPC Cards for only $3.99 from now until May 30th, you can still use it for 3 months , I just bought an SPC VIP card for $5 from ebay.
If you need more info about the card ( which most SCers don't ) chk. their website

Just found this on their site. Interesting I may buy my son one as elementary school kids can have them ID only has to be shown if the student is over 16:
Do I have to be a student to use an SPC Card?
SPC Card is an exclusive student membership program. Any aged student may use an SPC Card including any elementary, junior high school, secondary school, CÉGEP, college, university, private and public academies and schools of special focus or interest (e.g. language schools). Students that are 16 years of age or older may be asked to provide valid student ID in order to be eligible to receive applicable savings. Merchant locations have the right to refuse any discount if student ID is not shown.

I was just about to post this information when I found that donnaG had already posted it here! Great minds think alike. I gave you a thumbs up!
I already have an SPC card and I have saved loads of money since August 2009.
This offer is for the regular student SPC but even for the short period of 3 months, you can still save a lot of money. If you don't already have one, I recommend you take a look at the stores listed on the SPC Card website and see if you regularly shop there or plan on shopping there in the next 90 days.
Yes, you must be a student to register--you can purchase for your son or daughter and then take them along on your shopping trips!--as donnaG has already mentioned.
Happy shopping and most of all HAPPY SAVING!!Last edited by Fuzzy_Navel; Wed, May 5th, 2010 at 01:38 PM. Reason: spelling error

AFAIK the VIP card is promotional only , most ppl get it by subscribing to Loulou magazine for $14.95, the email should come soon, other than that, search forums like SC , you might find someone selling one.

I checked the site and it says elementary school kids can have them. My kids are in grade 2 and 4 and I think I will buy them one - I get lots of their school clothes etc from Zellers and I know that they offer SPC discount. Knowing how difficult Zellers staff can be I think i will print out who is eligible to have them and carry it when my son and i use the card.
