Well many of you know we bought a hot tub about a month ago or so. After much looking and pricing we decided to go with a Costco hot tub. Brand name Platinum aka Hydrospa.
From day one we had some problems. The diverter valve for the "waterfall" broke - Al managed to glue the thread back on and make it somewhat useable. On his guiys weekend more things went wrong. The stereo remote stopped working, the headrests seem to be falling apart as well. (I had to put that crazy dude in here somewhere)
We phoned the company (based in Florida), they said we should get a technician to check out the problems etc. I called the person they recommended. He said there were lots of other people with more problems, and he was having a hard time getting the company to pay him. (We certainly didn't want top pay for an inspection when we just bought the tub)
Eventually we decided to return the tub. Luckily Costco was great about it. They paid us back for the delivery to and from our house (Yay!).
We have now bought a new tub, one manufactured in BC and from a realy great company.
So the moral is, buy your hot tubs from smaller local companies if possible. But do remember don't hesitate to buy stuff from Costco - their customer service is wonderful. This thread is currently associated with: Costco
