Who are you gonna vote for in the fall?
Who are you gonna vote for in the fall?
I'm probably going to vote for rob ford
If I lived in TO it would be Ford hands down
anyone else?
It's too early to tell. As my friend (who has a Masters in PoliSci & used to be heavily involved in politics) says, at this point each of the candidates can throw away their chances. The last 4 weeks is when we discover what they're made of.
If I lived in Toronto, Rob Ford also
I just lost all respect for Smitherman. Here`s the press release regarding emergency services.
http://www.georgesmitherman.com/news.html
Suffice to say, that he is rather confused (to put it mildly) regarding this issue. I`ll stop here, before my blood pressure goes through the roof.
I hate stupidity.
Seems like a good idea and it makes sense.
Speaking of confused at least you didn't vote for this guy.
Did you hear the story on Alvin Greene, he won the democratic primary in South Carolina by 59%. Apparently people saw his name first on the ballot and thought he was the singer Al Greene.
Just listen to this interview and see what a gem they voted for.
Nope, not when you consider that EMS is funded by the province & TFS by the city. That would mean taking on a whole whack of extra funding to pay for EMS services.
You would expect a former *Ontario Health Minister* to actually know these things.
Besides, the reason EMS takes longer is due to paperwork at hospitals - paramedics are stuck in emergency rooms. If *someone* did something about the paperwork, they'd have a much better response time.
It's nothing more than a sound bite that seems like a good idea, especially when not giving out any of the details of why it doesn't work.
anyone else?
More dirty politics on the news the last couple of days. Not to mention a lot of sound bites taken out of context. A certain media outlet (who shall remain nameless) got the info completely wrong, almost to the point where it was the complete opposite of what the other media outlets were saying.
Apparently, ethics are no longer taught in journalism school. :(
Jury's still out for me. Although the behaviour of the candidates at last weekend's debate did show some true colours.
who are you leaning towards?
And apparently smitherman has been heading up a massive smear campaign agaisnt ford, who is being upfornt and brutally honest about everything and showing he isnt going to be a liar like smitherman, and yet is being made out to be an idiot.
Was that what you were talking about?
Partly. Here's Smitherman's smear campaign against Ford:
http://www.fordonford.com/
Did you see Rossi ambush Ford outside an event? He invited "journalists" along to record the reaction. When Ford refused to react, he started on a tirade against racism (?). Bizarre. :-~
I wish I could convince my politically minded friend to run. Of course, he'd never ever win - he's too honest for his own good. :P
Any new opinions?
Well, I'm happy that Sara Thomson dropped out. I lost all respect for her when she made some really silly remarks during a debate.
The jury's still out for me in terms of who deserves my vote. Quite frankly, my dog would be a better candidate than these options. :(
definitely voting for ford. I still associate smitherman with mcguilty's LIEberals.
I would vote for Lily before those candidates too lol
I don't live in Toronto, but if I did...
I didn't mind Smitherman when he was at Queen's Park, he was quite down to earth and took the time to speak to people which is more than some of the ministers there. However, I hate smear campaigns and it has really put me off him
I typically favour a blue candidate, but I will not ever vote for Ford. His demeanour only means that there will be no consensus in Council (which you need to pass anything, there has to be give and take), and if he uses the same attitude he has shown in debates and campaigning when asking the Feds or McGuinty for funds, he will get nowhere
I didn't have a very high opinion of Rossi to begin with but its even lower now considering his release of the info of Thompson bowing out to support him (and I am glad she was honest about it and that she changed her mind as a result)
Pantalone is just meh, even the media don't really report about him
I came across this game/contest about the candidates - called "Mayor Munch" - I think you can play as a guest without entering the contest.
http://www.playonestop.com/home/mayor_munch#
That is advertised on the TTC, its funny because one of the papers actually took it as a real poll and reported on it hahah
I vote for Andits dog
Any new opinions?
What kinda dog?
LOL
Well, she`s lived most of her life in Toronto (since she was 6months old, don`t know where she lived before that) & I have no clue what her Mom & Dad were. Best guess is a little collie, a little labrador, a little greyhound & some kind of evil genius. Well, she`s not exactly evil, just very very smart - more than I`ll ever be.
But she`s never met a person or cat she didn`t like. & she wouldn`t cause endless fights in council - she`s very good at manipulating everyone & charming them into getting her way.
Too bad it`s too late to run for election, I have a feeling she`d get lots of votes. :P
Does anyone really think that Miller`s endorsement of Pantalone will help his campaign?
Both Pantaleone & Ford voted in favour of the silly new anti-parking law. To be fair to them, the by-laws were changed since they were first presented (as a way to keep cars from blocking sidewalks).
Still have no clue who to vote for. :(
ford! i've even got the bumper sticker
