Life before computers? I had a very clean house!!!
LOL.. funny !
I don't watch as much tv. :)
Hmmm that's a tough one since I trained in computer science and have not been without a computer since the 80's. I think I gave up much more when I had kids. LOL
I would be surprised if I spent more than 2 hours a day total on the machine. I am on and off a lot. 5 minutes here or there. Winter is a different thing though I do spend more time on here.
Coming from a time when we actually had to get out of our chairs to turn the tv channel to the ONE OTHER channel we had, I can't imagine life without my computer! A girlfriend of mine and I were just talking about this the other day...looking for a knitting pattern? Recipe? Medical advice? Kids sick? GOOGLE it!!
It's really quite incredible.
Like Patty, I'm on again/ off again on here, jumping in and out...but if I were really honest with myself, it'd be a couple of hours a day for sure...more if I'm playing a new Hidden Object game! :-) I'm trying to be on here less these days and be more productive in the real world...I'm doing more sewing...scrapbooking (before our grandson graduates high-school I hope to have his baby photos done! LOL!)...But it is a lovely waste of time just to browse around on here!!!
I honestly cannot remember what I did...prob sat in my room crying over a boy crush (HS) listening to sappy music haha
Hmm, I've more or less had computers around my whole life. My mom worked for the DND, and as such was always able to bring computer things home when they were replaced...I got my first laptop at 11, totally played Pokemon on it!!! I'm on a lot, but I find I read a lot...and...stare off in space...things.
LOL Crying over boys has been done over the centuries. :)
Well, I'm an oldie, so those all apply to me!
I was tremendously lucky to be able to start using computers in the mid-1970s - and of course use of them has morphed with time, progress, and need.
Happy to say though - though it's impacted my life in a very positive way, it doesn't take away any time, or anything at all, that I used to do - certain things were curtailed by health problems. So for example, in my spare time I used to do lots of cross-stitching and needlework while watching tv - and now I go on the computer and listen to talk radio.
And, I feel the same as Lynn expressed - sometimes I'm amazed at the sheer 'at your fingertips' power which the internet has given us, and all that info there instantaneously.
Most of all - to be able to be on something like SC, which has brought me to many AMAZING people!!!
I can't remember not having a computer lol
Playing outside almost every day, reading, playing with my toys. I'm trying to remember what I did as a kid now...
True, DH - a reason why we limited 'screen time' with our son as he was growing up. So he would still spent time outside in the yard, out exporing the neighbourhood once he was old enough, out with friends in the park or playground - PLAY, not just eyes on screen (computer, tv, gaming).
Funnily enough, he talked to me about this last week. He's 18 now - and said he was GLAD that we did things as we did, and restricted him, because he saw what parents doing (or not doing) otherwise has affected his friends....
i've had home computers since 1985. back then programming "oh susannah" in Basic on the commodore64 was awesome haha.
but i was 11, so i think i was usually busy coming up with new dance routines with my friend to madonna, prince and bryan adams songs :)
love the image tho gameprogirl, can i steal it? :)
